The whole car ride to dinner was silent, and all Rebecca could think about was their almost kiss. The two had been hanging out for almost two months, and they would both be lying if they said they didn't have feelings for each other. The last time Rebecca and Colby shared a kiss was the night she ran in the rain to the restaurant for him. And all she could think about was why? If he really had feelings for her how come he hadn't kissed her again?
Rebecca tried not to tear up as she looked through the window. She wanted so badly for them to become a couple, but after everything that had happened in the past two days, she wasn't so sure she could believe in love anymore.
. . . . . . .
"But yeah we're really excited and we can't wait!" Katie said across from the others. Everyone was currently sitting and eating around the big, fancy dinner table.
Annette smiled and patted Katie's arm from beside of her. "Well I'm sure it will be a beautiful wedding. We're all so excited."
Katie smiled. "I'm getting a little nervous too. I have this terrible feeling that something bad is going to happen and then our wedding is a flop."
Richie grabbed her hand from the other side of her. "Nothing is going to happen babe. It will be amazing."
Rebecca pressed her lips together and picked up her wine glass taking a long sip. Annette looked over at her daughter and chuckled. "Becks dear, are you alright?"
Rebecca looked at her with wide eyes before putting her glass down. "I'm fine."
Annette nodded and looked around at Colby. "So Colby, how are you liking Ireland so far?"
Colby nodded. "I love it, it's a beautiful country. Rebecca has showed me a lot of places that I've really enjoyed, so I've had fun."
Rebecca nodded from beside of him. "Yep. I've shown him the shops and restaurants dad used to take me to. And we have also hung out by the lake to watch the sunset a few times. It's been real fun."
Bryan scoffed across from her as he stared her down. "Really? Because I saw you in one of those restaurants and he didn't look like he was having fun."
Rebecca tensed up. I knew something bad was about to happen. "Well that was because you said some things you shouldn't have said."
Bryan shook his head. "I was just telling you the truth. It ain't my fault he got mad over it."
Colby wrapped his arm around Rebecca's shoulders. "Bryan you told her that she wasn't worth loving and that she was a slut."
Katie gasped. "Bryan! Why would you say that?"
Bryan shrugged and shook his head. "I know that I'm a better man for her than Colby is."
Richie shook his head. "Bryan you two broke up. You dumped her remember?"
Colby gave Bryan a glare. "Seriously? That's what you've told them? You didn't dump her, you cheated on her throughout the whole relationship!"
Rebecca gave him a side glare shaking her head. Bryan furrowed his eyebrows. "What?! I never cheated on her. You all know this!"
Rebecca sunk down in her chair, as now the whole family argued. Annette looked at Richie and Katie before looking at Bryan. "So who's telling the truth? One of you is lying."
Rebecca looked at Bryan shaking her head. "I'm telling the truth." She said quietly. "I just didn't want to tell you guys because I thought you would think I was a fool..."
Richie covered his face with his hand while Katie shook her head. "I knew it!" She then pointed at Bryan. "The other day when you tried to kiss Becks, I knew something was going on!"
Colby sat up and looked at Katie. "What? When did this happen?" He looked at Rebecca who was sitting beside of him.
Everyone got quiet. "Wait..." Katie said. "He didn't know?"
Rebecca shook her head slowly. "Oh my god." Katie said looking down.
Bryan scoffed. "It's not that big of a deal! They're probably not even a real couple. I mean they haven't kissed the whole time they've been in this freakin country, so I figured I'd make her happy."
Richie looked at him disgusted. "Dude, they don't have to kiss each other in public to prove that they're dating!"
Then everyone started arguing with each other again, the table getting louder and louder every second. Colby just sat there with his hands in his lap while Rebecca shook her head.
Rebecca then stood up from the table real fast slamming her hands down on it. "Enough!" She exclaimed making the table, and a few other quests, go quiet. "Thanks for the dinner Richie, and thanks to you Bryan, for ruining everyone's evening." She said with a glare. "I'll see you all at the wedding. I'm leaving."
Rebecca then grabbed her purse and walked away with all eyes on her. Colby then stood up with a squared jaw running after Rebecca quickly.
Rebecca was headed towards the front entrance before Colby grabbed her arm and pulled her into a back patio, where know one could see them. "Becks are-"
"Stop Colby, just stop!" She said placing a hand over his chest. "I didn't tell you about Bryan trying to kiss me the other day because I didn't want you to start anything so I'm sorry for not telling you."
Colby shook his head and placed his hands on her hips. "Rebecca I don't care that you didn't tell me, I just wanted to make sure you were ok? I didn't mean to start all the arguing."
Rebecca shook her head and teared up. "I'm not upset over the arguing Colby. It was just awkward..." She said letting a tear fall. "I'm upset because Bryan is right!"
Colby furrowed his eyebrows cupping her cheek in his hand. "Me and you don't act like a couple. Sure we got the cheek and forehead kisses down pat, but you haven't kissed me since I ran after you in the rain." Colby then looked down as she continued. "I tried to kiss you once again a few weeks ago and you backed away and earlier tonight we almost kissed but then you pulled away from me." She then started sobbing making Colby shake his head. "Am i not the girl you want? Did i do something to make you not like me?"
Colby furrowed his eyebrows and shook his head cupping her cheeks again. He wiped her tears as he spoke, "Rebecca, love, you did nothing wrong. You're everything I want."
Rebecca then looked up at him shaking her head. "Then why haven't you kissed me?" She asked sniffling.
Colby chuckled and pushed her hair out of her face. "Because if I kiss you Becks, I don't know if I'm going to be able to stop."
