The Two of Us[Brollins]

Chapter 32

On their way back to the hotel, they stopped by a diner and got some food. They were both starving not only from their long trip, but they had swam for close to 2 hours.

Once they got back to the hotel Rebecca hopped into the shower while Colby went through his emails. He hadn't checked them since his phone call with Brad, so he didn't know what to expect when he got on there.

He deleted all of his junk mail before seeing an email from Brad. Have you thought about it?

Colby started typing. Im still trying to decide.

We'll just let me know something soon. I have another department that's wanting you to be the manager for them. It's in Florida though so just let me know before next week.

Colby closed his phone and swore under his breath. He still didn't know what to do about work, and they were leaving in just a few days, so he needed to think fast.

If he took Brad's old job, then he takes the risk of not only losing his girlfriend, but they could both lose their jobs if anyone found out they were together. If he took the other departments manager job, he would have to move states, which meant he would never see Rebecca.

His eyes darted to the bathroom when he heard Rebecca walk out. "That was the best shower I've taken in forever." She then jumped on the bed beside of him, and when she saw his worried expression she grabbed his hand. "Hey...what's wrong?"

Colby shook his head. "I was just thinking about work that's all."

Rebecca rubbed his hand gently. "What's happening now?"

Colby looked at her with a sympathetic smile. "Brad said that if I don't take his old job then I have another one waiting for me in another state."

Rebecca's shoulders dropped as she thought about his words. "We can just not tell anyone..." Colby shook his head. "I mean they know we're good friends so they shouldn't get suspicious if they see us hanging out."

Colby shook his head again and wrapped an arm around her. "I'll have to think about it. I mean we should be able to pull it off, but I'm afraid Tom will do something stupid and we'll be exposed.

Rebecca laughed. "That's true." They didn't speak for a few minutes. They just sat there hugging one another. "I want you to do what you want to do Colby. If you want that job in whatever other state...I want you to go for it. We could make this work. We just wouldn't see each other as much."

"I know. Like i said, I'll have to think about it. Until then I'm getting in the shower and going to bed." Colby said giving her cheek a soft kiss. "You can go ahead and lay down, I shouldn't be long."

Rebecca nodded and when the bathroom door shut, she started to freak out. Not only was she worried about their work life, now she had to worry about how she was going to sleep. She would be sleeping a foot away from Colby, which meant she wouldn't be sleeping at all, because she would be so nervous about being that close to him.

They almost screwed against a wall at a restaurant...she couldn't imagine how they were going to stay away from each other on a bed.

Rebecca changed into her pajamas, after deciding which ones she thought she looked better in, and then climbed into bed. She then grabbed her phone to answer missed messages. She had one from Richie, thanking her for helping so much during the wedding, she had another one from Ashley, telling her how much she misses her, and the last one was from her mother, saying she hoped her and Colby were enjoying their time together.

Rebecca turned her phone off after a while and turned over to go to sleep. About 30 minutes later Colby came out of the bathroom—making sure he put on his shirt— and crawled into bed after turning off the lights.

He then looked down at his girlfriend, who was asleep beside of him, and pushed a strand of hair out of her face. He watched how peaceful she seemed before leaning down and pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. "Good night baby..."
