Abhi wiped his eyes. Geet changed his bottle and took a new one. Again, he said,
"Lagisil bhal Aahi k. Kintu jetiya maa detak dekhisilu kajiya kora, bhabisilu eituyei jibon neki. Xikarone jibonot karubak akuwali lobo khujotei ekei obostha hoisil mor. Maa detar dore. Abhi looked at him and smiled soberly. Geet was drunk. The alcohol was hitting his head.
"Abhi, loi jua taaik! Nalage mok! Ki nu korim iman bhal suwalijonik rakhi?
Kintu eta kotha, xukhi rakhibo paarim dost. Mor hridoyor xomosto morom taai e paabo. Aaru no tension dost! Tumaar bacha k mor bacha r dore rakhim. Khali loi najaba mor pora atoraai."
Aahi didn't say anything. He was just listening to Geet's words. He knew through how much pain he was going. Abhi didn't want to feel anything, but he was going through a lot of emotions. He was sad, heartbroken, but mostly, he was sorry for Geet. Finally Abhi said,
"Geet, just keep her happy. Beleg eko nalage koribo. Bhalke rakhiba taaik. Mor bor moromor o taai. Taair kosto nuwaru saabo. Ketiyaao kosto nidiba. Ketiya nidiba."
He folded his hands and started crying. Geet put his hands over Abhi's folded hands and said,
"Abhi, dost, kosto dibo pora mor iman xokti naai. Khali etiya jiyabo bisaru. Moromot raakhim tumaar Aahik. Khali mor pora loi najaba taaik. Thakibo diya mor usorot."
Abhi stood up and left the place. Geet kept sitting there feeling the breeze, high on alcohol and his feelings. He kept looking at the moon, the moon that gave him courage to keep moving. He didn't look back at time because of the moon, nor would he ever.......
The wedding day arrived. As decided, Abhi would stay beside her because he wanted to be with her during the time. Aahi knew all thses would only make him suffer more, but she also knew there no point in telling him all these things. After Aahi got ready in her attire, Abhi entered the room
He saw her and stood still in his place. Yeah, that was his Aahi who would be someone else's from that day. That was the girl with whom he dreamt his entire life. The girl he thought would wear that attire for him, was wearing it for someone else
"Jaabi e noh? Paahori jaabi noh mok? Sob khotom noh?"
He said, after her friends went out of the room and there were only two of them, as Abhi locked the door. Aahi kept looking at the ground. She didn't want to look into his eyes, she didn't have the courage to.
"Naai de. Nalage mor logot thakibo. Khali hahibo napahoribi. Ketiyaba mok dekha paale matibi, mukh khon ghuraai nidibi. Mor baby k mor kotha kobi, nokoleo mok ebaar dekhabi kenekua dekhii. Khobor lobi mor. Mor Aahi nalage nohobo, mor best friend hoi thakibi de, Aahi please!"
He broke down and sat in the ground. Aahi came running towards him and grabbed him. She sat down and hugged him. Keeping her head on his chest, she said,
"Abhi, moi tok ketiyaao nuwaru paahoribo. Mor best friend xodaai toi e. Tor baahire belegok nibisarilue. Nakandibi na please, mok jaabo de naa Abhi, jaabo de mok. Narakhibi mok monot. Nalage rakhibo."
They kept sitting there like that. Suddenly Aahi's friends started knocking at the door.
"Oi dorja khon khul, dora aahise."
One of them shouted. Abhi stood up and opened the door. They rushed into the room and looked at Aahi.
"Maatit kio pori aso eneke, bisona sador khon paari thua ase kaaxot, tate boh."
One of them again said,
"Tor maskara boi kio ahise, kandi asili neki?"
Hearing it, Aahi quickly brought a handkerchief and wiped the tears from her cheeks carefully. She said,
"Naai, sokut pok xumaisil karone ulal sokupaani."
Ignoring Aahi's reply, her friend said,
"Oii Riya, khura khurik maat jaa. Xewa koribo lage eii, taar pisot he ulai jaabo paribo. Aaru, dorar manuhok kobi olop bhalke poisa dii koinak nibole, enei nidiu aaru taaik."
Everyone laughed, except for Aahi and Abhi. They both kept looking at each other while everyone got ready to take her to the mandap.........
