Narrator's POVWhile everyone was asleep somewhere in the living room, Y/n laid on the floor with her eyes wide open. The mix of the drugs and the alcohol now gave her the ability to see molecules in the air, taste colors and finally understand math.
She started feeling like she was being pulled out of her body, like her soul was leaving her body. It felt weird at first but then she started feeling incredibly light, like air. She was floating around like a bubble. She could look around the living room, while still seeing her body. Then suddenly, she was back in her body with more hallucinations. This time, she saw her life pass right in front of her. Not in a "imminent death" kind of thing but more like when you're watching a movie. She took a look at her life and took the time to think about everything that has happened, her upbringing, the way she was raised. It made her realize something.
She deserved better, she was way better than she made herself out to be. She was more talented, more deserving, more loved, more everything, than she ever thought she was. It was like she had an epiphany, like she finally saw the truth. She needed to change her way of life. The way she acted, she way she thought, it was time for a change.
On this last thought, she finally fell asleep.
The next day, everyone woke up around the same time. Some tired, hungover, still a bit high, sore from the piercings or tattoos gotten the night before. Overall, they didn't feel great but were still glad they had so much fun the night before. Everyone eventually got dressed, cleaned up and decided to go get some food at a mall or something since it was already mid day.
Out of everyone, Y/n took the longest to get ready. Something really changed overnight, her energy, aura. She was the same old Y/n, just, better. She put on an amazing outfit, did her makeup, did her hair and they all finally left.
They got some breakfast and just walked around, talking about random stuff. Everyone noticed that change in Y/n's energy, yet they didn't comment on it. They simply enjoyed it. Happy that she was evolving into a better version of herself. A version that finally had balls.
Everyone ended up parting ways but Eddie and Y/n stayed together, like always. They walked around having fun. Their friendship was the best thing ever, they were everything the other had and you could never see one without the other, like conjoined twins.
They did some shopping while Y/n was ranting about her drug induced epiphany she had the night before. She did admit it was an odd way to suddenly become a better person but she wasn't going to complain about it.
Once the day was over, she parted ways and finally went home to find Max on her doorstep, crying. Y/n obviously got her inside, gave her some water and let the little girl vent about her family problems. Max wasn't in a stable state to go home since she was uncontrollably sobbing and she also didn't want to. So she figured she could spend the night. Max would sleep on the couch and to not leave her alone, Y/n decided to lay a mattress on the floor so they could be together.
Then started operation: cheer Max up. With things like music, showing her the new tattoo she got, comfort food and comedy movies. Everything was set up for them to have an improvised girl's night. Until they were interrupted. They heard a bang on the door and Billy's loud voice. "Y/n, I know Max is here. Open the door, I don't have much patience today".
Max got scared but Y/n kept her cool and opened the door, he wanted to come in but she stopped him, putting herself in between:
"
- Y/n, don't piss me off today, I've had a very long day. Just bring Max
- No, she doesn't want to, we're having a sleepover
- Listen here, I don't know what's the matter with you, but you can't just keep my sister indefinitely
- Oh so she's your sister now? Hard to believe after everything she told me
- Y/n come on, you know what Max and I have to live with, don't make this harder
- Just tell her parents she's sleeping over at a friend's house
- Yeah of course, I'll tell her that my sister is sleeping at a 19 years old, drug addict, rocker
- It's always better than home
- Come on Y/n,
- You know what? Give me a minute. She went back inside and closed the door
- Max, I don't think he plans on leaving
- I don't want to see him
- Even if he apologizes, sincerely?
- He's never going to
- Here's the deal, if I make him apologize to you, you go home and tomorrow you can come over and we can spend the day together, I'll even take you shopping if you want
- You promise?
- I can't guarantee anything with Billy but I'll try my best. Just give me a minute
- Alright.
- So here's the deal. Y/n went back out
- What?
- Max agrees to go home with you, under one condition
- Oh so she has conditions now? Tell her to come out and say it to my face. He walked closer to her but she simply calmed him down, putting a hand on his chest
- You calm down first. She's agreeing to leave if you apologize
- Apologize? Does she want me to go on my knees while I'm at it
- Sincerely. She said, stern
- Alright
- You promise
- I do
- Great. Max! You can come out now
- Finally. He said as his little sister came out
- Billy...
- Alright, alright. I'm sorry
- Sorry for what? Don't look at me, look at her. Y/n added
- I'm sorry for getting angry and shouting at you. Good enough? He looked at Y/n, annoyed
- She'll be the judge of that
- I suppose it's enough
- Alright, get in the car now, I need to have a talk with Y/n. Billy pointed at the parked car.
- Billy? Y/n said
- Yeah?
- Did you know that I loved you?
- What?
- I'm not talking about obsession, or sex, or anything. I'm talking about love, I never really understood why, but I guess I did, I really did
- You did?
- Yup, I got roasted by all my friends about it. Never heard the end of it. She chuckled
- Past tense?
- Yes, past tense
- Why?
- I don't know, it just happened
- Y/n I-
- You should go now, it's getting late. Goodnight Billy. She said with a small smile
"
Y/n went back inside while Billy stayed in front of the door like an idiot for a minute or two. His heart was melting at her statement. He did know that she loved him, it's not like she made any effort to hide it. Still, the fact that she would actually admit it to him, while looking at him in the eye was... making him feel things.
He didn't know if he liked her too, deep inside, he hoped not, but it felt like he didn't have any choice. He didn't start liking Y/n just because she finally grew some balls, he always had a soft spot for her, he just never really paid any mind to it because, one: he was in a relationship -though he didn't seem to care when he would go cheat on her with other women-, and two: they were pretty much polar opposites, he didn't see himself dating a rocker. Maybe this was going to change though.
