"Something's happening," Dustin smiles, as it's been hours since we started following him, and we started getting tired of this, and it was already night.

"Dustin, can you slow down? Dustin?" Eddie quickly follows Dustin, as we walk through the bushes in the dark.

"I think we're getting close," Dustin says, as we follow him, before he stops.

"Watch your steps, big guy," Eddie says, holding Dustin from falling in the lake.

"Oh man," Steve sighs, as we all stop looking at the lake, "You gotta be shitting me," I groan, glaring down at Dustin

"Yeah,"

"I thought these woods were familiar," Steve mumbles.

"Lover's Lake," Robin says.

"This is confounding,"

"There's a gate in Lover's Lake?" Max furrows her eyebrows in confusion.

"Whenever the Demogorgon attacked, it always left an opening, maybe Vecna's the same way," Nancy says, looking back at us.

"Yeah, only one way to find out," Steve says.

"Easy, I said easy, man," Steve complains, as him and Eddie put the boat on the water.

"Sorry, dude," Eddie mumbles, as they both stay on their knees, "Here we go," Steve says, putting his hand forward to help Robin getting on the boat, as she just puts her hands on their heads for support, "Yeah, I'm just gonna do that, thank you," she walks, and sit on the boat, "Yeah, that works too," Steve mumbles, while Eddie gets on the boat.

"Wheeler," Eddie helps Nancy, as she thanks him, Dustin waves at us with a smile, as I furrow my eyes at him in confusion.

"Hey, hey, hey, you trying to sink us?" Eddie says, putting his arm forward, stopping him.

"This thing holds three people tops, okay?" Eddie explains, before sitting beside Robin.

"It's better this way, okay? You guys stay here with Max. Keep an eye out for trouble," Nancy says, as Dustin snaps.

"You keep an eye out," he raises his voice, as Nancy raises her eyebrows, "It's my goddamn theory," he argues.

"You heard Nance," Robin says, staying by her side.

"Who put her in charge?"

"I did," Robin says, as Dustin furrows his eyebrows, "Compass," Nancy says, opening her palm forward, he whines like a child, before slowly handing it to her with a frown.

"Here, there you go," Steve says, throwing the bag at Dustin, as it hits his face, "Ow,"

Steve pushes the boat, before climbing on it, soaking his shoe, "You said, three!"

"Sorry," Steve says, obviously not being sincere.

"Your turn to be a babysitter," Steve says, high enough to let me hear, as I  sigh annoyed, while they started getting away.

"Bedtime at nine, kiddos, Y/n take care of them!" Robin shouts, as I throw my head back.

"Miss you already!" Robin sarcastically yells from afar, standing up on the boat while waving at us.

"Fuck you, Robin!" I shout at her, as she keeps waving, "Love you more!" she yells back, as Steve and Eddie keep rowing, moving further and further away.

Lucas uses the binoculars, watching them, as we stand beside him, "Wait, wait, wait, they're stopping, what are they stopping for?" Lucas asks, grabbing my arm.

"I don't know, Dustin, ask them," I say, as he nods, before holding the walkie-talkie close to his face, "Guys, what's going on? Come on, talk to me,"

"Uh, Dustin, your compass has gone from wonky to wonky with a capital 'aah!'" Robin answers, as Dustin glances at us.

"When did Steve get so hairy?" Lucas asks in disbelief, "Right? I keep telling him that he doesn't need to keep that jungle, but he claims the ladies dig it," Dustin says, I shrug, "He's always been hairy," I say, seeing from afar that Steve pulled his sweatshirt off.

"Let me see," Max says, snatching the binoculars from Lucas, using them, as we stay silent, while Lucas and Dustin glance at me with wide eyes.

I awkwardly look at them, not understanding what was the problem, as Lucas raises his eyebrows in disbelief, "What-" I ask in confusion, before slowly lookibg back at them with wide eyes, finally realizing.

"Hey, hey, Max, give it back," I say, trying to get the binoculars from her, as she backs away, still holding it on her face.

"There's the police," I rapidly say, as they quickly look back, as I snatch the binoculars from her, "You three really fell for it, that's insane," I laugh at them, as they sigh in relief.

"Y/n, you scared the shit out of me," Dustin exhales, as Max and Lucas chuckle at him, as I put the binoculars on my eyes, seeing Steve diving in the lake, "What is that dork doing," I mumble. As I feel their gaze moving towards me.

"He jumped in the lake," I say, as Dustin smiles, "You guys realize, if there's a gate down there, it's technically a water gate," he says, I we glare at him, before turning back at the boat.

"Watergate," he chuckles, before snatching the binoculars from my hands, "You could've just asked, oh, my God," I say in frustration, as he holds them, looking at the lake.

"Come on, Steve, come on," he mumbles, as I turn around and see some lights and hear people chattering.

"It's the police," I whisper at Max, as she and Lucas turn around too, and their eyes widen, "Yeah, of course it is, we're not that stup-" I cut Dustin off, putting my hand over his mouth and dragging him.

"Shut up, get down," I whisper to them, as they do as told, hiding behind a log.

"Down by the water!"

"It was on this shoreline,"

"Dustin, you're a goddamn Einstein, Steve found the gate," we hear Robin say from the walkie-talkie, as we quickly turn to Dustin, while he turns it off, before we hear the sirens wailing.

"Shit, shit, shit," I mumble, peeking from the log, "We can't let them find Eddie," Lucas says, as Max turns to us, "Hey, stay with me," she says, before quickly getting up, and starting yelling, "Hey, officers!" Dustin and Lucas glance at her in disbelief, putting their fingers over their mouth, as my eyes widen, pulling her arm.

"Over here! I found the killer! This way!" she shouts again, as I rapidly think of what to do, as I get up, "Run," I say, before grabbing Max's hand, running away, as Lucas and Dustin follow us, as I glanced back at them every now and then, checking up on them, as we ran through the bushes and avoided trees.
