Dinner Date?

Brooklyn raced out of the room, I followed immediately after.

As we got down there, the boys had already shown David.

I looked in horror.

"Dad! I swear, I can explain, it's just that..."

I cut him off.

"I was vulnerable. I'm so sorry. We got caught up in the moment. Don't blame Brooklyn. It was all me" I told him.

David looked at me. Then at Brooklyn. Then the picture.

"It's okay" David replied.

Romeo and Cruz's smirks had faded.

"What? Dad! They were kissing?" Romeo added.

"Yes Romeo, I've noticed. Brooklyn... come over here a second?" David asked Brooklyn.

Brooklyn nodded.

I got very nervous all of a sudden.

Oh great.

I was trembling.

I was watching Brooklyn's facial expressions. They were so confusing. He was smiling, then frowning. I wonder what they were talking about.

They started to walk over. My eyes widened.

Brooklyn walked in front of me.

His eyes looking nervous.

"Mandy...?"

"Yeah?" I replied.

"Would you like to maybe go out on a date?" he asked.

I started to smile.

He looked around at everyone.

David was smiling, eating his apple in between smirks.

Romeo and Cruz started to giggle.

I turned back towards him.

"I would like nothing more than that" I told him, smiling.

He took a big breath out.

He laughed.

"We are all going out tonight. You can have the house to yourselves. But no funny business" David said.

Brooklyn giggled.

"No Brooklyn, I'm serious. I want nothing inappropriate. Okay?" he told him.

I looked at Brooklyn and he nodded.

The door opened suddenly. It gave me the biggest fright.

It was Mum and Victoria.

"Hey Mum" I yelled

"Hey sweet pea, good time?"

"Yeah great"

Mum hadn't spoken about the car crash forever. I thought she was gonna tell me everything.... but of course she would never do that!

"Your son just asked a very special girl out, Vic" David called out.

"Really? Wait... who?" She asked.

He looked at me and grabbed my hand.

Victoria looked surprised.

Mum looked worried.

"Where will they be going?" Mum asked.

"Well WE are going out for dinner, and Brooklyn and Mandy will be staying here" David told Mum.
