I'm sitting here, on the side of the road just staring at my phone screen. Nik, why is nik calling me? I haven't spoken to nik in over 6 years. After our dad died he moved to the UK and didn't speak to me for any of those years because he blamed me for it, so i just left him alone. He lived his life and I lived mine

Why is he calling me? Do i answer it? what does he want? Why now?

I decided to just answer it, "What."

"Ahh decided to finally answer eh" He now has a slight UK accent.

That's going to get annoying later.

"What do you want Niklaus"

"Always so serious" he lets out a dry laugh.

"What. do. you. want. Niklaus." I took a pause in between my words to express the frustration i was feeling.

Ever since we were kids nik always found a way to irritate me. No matter what we were doing or where we were at, he would always get me to my last nerve, The very last one.

"A brother can't call his brother to check in?"

"Niklaus there is no Checking in. I haven't spoken to you in 6-7 years. What do you want" I say getting tired of this conversation.

He all of a sudden gets serious, "Can we meet up".

Meet up?

"Why"

"So i can tell you why im back in town"

"Tell me now" i say trying to avoid seeing him

"Lucifer it's important. I wouldn't be contacting you after 7 years for no reason"

I take the phone and hold it away from my ear and let out a deep aggravated breath and squeeze the phone almost breaking it, almost.

"Fine Niklaus. Tomorrow, 11:00am, at Pop's. good for you?" I say trying to hold my composure

"Yes. see you then"

As i walk into pop's, the smell of food cooking hits my nose and oh is it pleasing. I walk in and there is no on here besides bobby, maggie, and myself. There she is, around the counter wearing a baby pink floral dress with little flowers and butterflies. I look at the time and It is now 10:45 so i have roughly 15 minutes. I walk to the bar and sit in a stool and rest my chin on my hand just staring at her as she makes coffee, she hasn't seemed to notice me yet.

"Hello friend" I say grabbing her attention

She spins to me and smiles, "Hi"

She is so beautiful. woahh there buddy slow your roll.

"What can I get for you today" she says bring out her notepad and pen

"I'm not sure. I am hungry though" i say looking at the menu tying to decide what to get

"I think i know what you might like"

"What?"

"Come closer" she gestures for me to go to her I lean forward and she grabs my ear and cups her hands around it, "It's a surprise" She pulls back and starts laughing. Her laugh is very contagious bacause then i find myself kinda giggling, but like a manly giggle.

After she finished laughing she told me to go sit in a booth and wait for the "Surprise". I sit in my usual booth in the back. I decided to go on my phone for the time being.
