Chase's POV
The school day ended and everyone was making their ways to their cars or starting their walks home. I stood by Adelaide's red 1970 ford bronco her and her dad worked on. A few minutes later everyone made their way outside. I let Cory and Lawrence in the back taking the passenger seat for myself. Addie handed me her phone so I could do music. I scrolled through her playlist trying to find a good song, I pressed Insane in the brain by Cypress Hill and we all started to dance to it.
Soon we made it to my house, my mom and dad were already home from work as we parked. We entered my house, my mom starting dinner, my dad in the living room watching tv and my little sister at the kitchen table colouring.
"Hi Mrs. Beckett." Adelaide went to give my mom a hug.
"Hi sweetie. Remember you don't need to call me Mrs. Beckett. It's Laura or mom." She took Adelaide into the hug.
"Hi Cory, Hi Lawrence." My mom said to the rest of my friends. Cory said hi as he was giving my sister a piggyback ride, and Lawrence waved.
"How was school?" My dad asked, walking to the kitchen.
"Meh."
"Borning."
"It was okay."
"Boring."
My dad chuckled. "Right."
"Well we should be getting to the garage." I said, as I put my bag down on a chair at the table.
"Okay guys have fun, and remember guys 11." My mom said,
"We know." Cory, Adelaide, and I said in unison. I was about to go downstairs before I got stopped by my dad.
"UmI'll be down in a sec, you guys can start to set up." I said to the group as I watched the worried look on my parents' faces.
I stood against the kitchen counter as I wanted for what my parents were going to say. "So Chase, how was your day?" My mom started.
"Um.. it was okay. I got in some missing work and I-"
"We got a call Chase." My dad interrupted.
My heart started to beat faster. It could've been anyone, my teacher, my counsellor, the principal, someone's parents.
From what I remember since I started school I was always bullied. I was always picked on for being weird, dressing weird, and having no friends. It wasn't as bad in grade 5 cause that's when I met Adelaide and Cory. The bullying didn't stop and when we entered highschool it only got worse. Adelaide never let bullies get to Cory, me, or herself and she made sure they knew of that, I'm pretty sure she's beaten up more people for picking on me than the ones picking on her. I told my parents about the bullying and they tried everything to get it to stop but nothing worked. One fucked school system.
"Who called you?" I asked, trying to swallow the lump in my throat.
"Addies dad. He saw you with Hayden and Logan this morning, and that you guys got into a sort of altercation?" My mom said,
"Chase, we thought the bullying stopped." My dad said.
I just stood there, and shrugged. "It did they just wanted to talk."
"Did they?" My mom asked. "Because from what we heard it wasn't just talking."
"Mom, dad I get it you're worried but trust me I'm fine." I put on the best fake smile I could conjure up.
I wasn't fully lying to them, I was fine, I could take the teasing. The bullying didn't stop though I didn't think it ever would. But I'm fine, we're fine. Right?
