Chase's POV

"Okay guys we have a show in a month and we don't have a bass player, and we need a new bass player so they can learn our songs and we're gonna need a month to do so." Adelaide said as she paced my room. "What are we going to do?" She stopped to look at Cory and I with her hands on our hips like we were in trouble.

"We could always host auditions?" Cory said with a shrug.

"Are you fucking joking?" Adelaide glared daggers into him.

"I well I mean no?" He stuttered.

"We have a show in one month dipshits, we need serious ideas." Adelaide continued.

"I mean Cory's idea does sound good, after school tomorrow we can host some tryouts." I said backing up Cory.

"But what if we don't find anyone we like?" She groaned, flopping down on my bed.

"We will Addie we will, don't stress that's how your hair falls out." I chuckled. "My mom said y'all can sleepover if you want."

"I'm staying over." Cory said in a yawn.

"My mom wants me home tonight, but I'll see you guys tomorrow." Adelaide grabbed her bag and made her way out of my house.

"Bye Addie." Cory and I yelled. "So... Wanna smoke?" I turned to Cory.

"you know me so well." Cory sprung up from my bed.

I chuckled at him and we made our way to the tree house in my backyard.

It was Monday morning and I made my way to chill in the music room before class started, I opened the door and was met with Meave tuning her bass.

"Oh hey." She smiled at me as I walked in.

"Hey Meave, how long have you been here for?" I asked as I set my bag down and took my seat on the piano bench.

"Around 10 minutes I think." She said,

"I see, I see." I watched her tune her bass when I remembered something. "So."

"So?" She looked at me with a chuckle.

"You know my band?" She gave me a nod. "Well we are holding auditions for a new bass player after school today."

"Okay? Is that supposed to interest me or what?" She smirked tilting her head

I leaned in towards her, with a smirk. "It can be whatever you want it to be, I'm just letting you know..."

"Chase?" I heard a voice from the doorway.

I stood up, turning towards the door seeing...

Kairi.

"Oh hey Kairi, what are you doing here?" I asked.

"What am I doing here?" She asked, almost confused. "You told me to meet you here yesterday.

"Oh?..." I did? "Oh shit yeah." I let out an awkward chuckle.

"Right. Okay, I can sense a lot of tension here I'm gonna go. I'll think about what you told me about." She smiled at me before walking out.

My gaze was returned to Kairi who was giving me a confused look, I picked up my bag and made my way out with her avoiding her stare.

"So who's that?" She asked.

"A friend." I returned.

"A friend?" She repeated, looking at me. We reached our homeroom class as the bell rang.
