Chapter 60

The cursed group chat whose chat name keeps on changing that I'm part of gave names to the four guys that went with Jaeryeong to Magyeong Construction. I didn't feel like coming up with my own names for them so I'm using the names the cursed chat came up with.

It was finally Dawn's birthday. After weeks of planning, it was finally time to celebrate her seventeenth birthday. 

"We're being hired as security for a birthday party," Jaeryeong informed the Action Squad. "The executives are also going to be there so it must be the birthday of someone very important. I also heard that it's going to be held at a mansion,"

"That's right," Gijoo entered the Action Squad's meeting room. "It'll be located at Hyeondo Hwang's mansion. He's the president of HDO Group. The birthday girl is a friend of his son,"

"HDO Group?" Jungwoo asked. "Isn't that the one of the biggest conglomerates? 

"That girl must be very lucky to have a rich friend like the HDO heir," Landan commented.

"Doesn't that mean that the friend is also a heiress?" Mark asked.

"Heirs and heiresses can be friends with non-heirs and non-heiresses," Gijoo told them. "And no, my little sister isn't an heiress,"

A silence fell over the Action Squad as they processed Gijoo's last sentence. Finally, the silence was broken by loud exclamations from the Action Squad members. "Your little sister!?"

"Didn't I mention to you guys that the birthday girl is my little sis?" 

"No!" All of the Action Squad members denied. 

"Anyways, let's all start heading to the mansion," Gijoo said as he exited. "It's almost time for the party to begin,"

All of the Action Squad members let out a loud sigh of relief. Some of them had initially wanted to joke about flirting with people at the party but now they wouldn't even joke about such a thing since it was the party of Gijoo's little sister.

"Boss Janghyeok!?" Jaeryeong exclaimed upon seeing the previous head of Cheongang at the mansion. "S-Sir, what are you doing here?"

"It's my niece's birthday," Janghyeok answered.

"EH!?"

"Wait, I thought it was Gijoo's little sister's birthday?" Landan asked.

"Gijoo literally decided to adopt my niece as his sister on sight," Janghyeok deadpanned. "That's how all of her non-blood related brothers became part of her family,"

Jaeryeong was caught off guard and startled by Janghyeok's behavior. He was much more laid back compared to when he was an active Cheongang leader.

"Uh..." Jaeryeong regained his composure. "The Action Squad should probably head to our assigned positions," 'It's so weird seeing Boss Janghyeok like this! Since the birthday girl is Boss Janghyeok's niece, it makes sense that Cheongang is hired as security to make sure nothing ruins her party,'

The party was a blast. Dawn interacted with all of her family and friends. They all played games, ate delicious food, and did fun activities like singing. Although there were still some tensions between the Union and the Eungang, they preferred to avoid directly interacting with each other to keep the peace for Dawn's sake.

Orion noted how Gijoo, rather than hanging out with Dawn, stuck close to him instead. "Shouldn't you be spending more time with your sister on her birthday?"
