"Soul transference bracelet?" Janghyeok inquired. "What are you two talking about?"
"Oh yeah, Gijoo gave me this random bracelet," Orion held up his wrist. "I still don't understand why though,"
Alistair quirked a brow at Gijoo. "You gave him a soul transference bracelet but you didn't explain what it does?"
"I planned to explain it to him after my sister's birthday party but Amy and Lukas Kil had to fuck things up," Gijoo responded.
"I'm surprised you never told your family about the multiverse yet," Alistair commented. "We still have some time so go ahead and tell them,"
"Okay, I never thought I'd ever have to explain this so here goes nothing," Gijoo took a deep breath. "This current universe we're in is one of the many universes that exist within the multiverse. This universe is D-01746. I'm from Universe S-01412. Don't ask where's the Gijoo Seol of this universe because I have no idea,"
"He died when he was ten years old," Alistair informed. "I don't remember how though. I'd have to search that up later,"
"Let's pretend what you're saying is true," Donald said. "Why are you in our universe, Gijoo?"
"I used to be a dimensional slayer," Gijoo revealed. "I would go and steal, rob, and kill other people in other universes. I ended up trapped in Universe D-01746 after my dimensional traveling equipment got destroyed five years ago,"
"So what does this bracelet do?" Orion questioned. "You told me it was the only thing you could do. What did you mean by that?"
"When you die wearing the soul transference bracelet, your soul will be sent to another universe and you'll be in a copy of your body in that universe," Gijoo explained. "But the catch is that you'll never be able to enter the universe you originally died in,"
"I don't want it," Orion immediately took the bracelet off.
"But Dad, it means you'll have another chance at life!" Dawn pleaded.
"And?" Orion began coughing up blood again. "I'd be in another world, unable to return to this world where my family is. I'd never see you guys again! I don't want to live in a world without my family! It'll be as if you guys died!"
"There is a way for us to visit the universe that your soul is gonna be transferred to," Gijoo said. "I'd need to repair my dimensional traveling equipment,"
"Since you've been stuck here for five years," Gray pointed out. "You've already attempted to do so but failed,"
"I gave up after a year," Gijoo claimed. "But I can continue trying. I don't know when it'll be fixed, but it'll give you hope,"
"Soul transference bracelets are really hard to come by," Alistair commented. "They're also extremely expensive and a one time use thing,"
"Gijoo, if it's that rare then you should keep it," Orion refused.
"I want you to use it," Gijoo insisted.
"I'm a murderer," Orion reminded. "Are you sure everyone still wants me in the family?"
"Dad..." Dawn spoke up. "I...You were very scary at that time," She dug her nails into the sleeves of her jacket. "You showed everyone a side of you that was terrifying. But...I still love you, Dad. Even though you murdered those monsters, you're still the same Dad who saved me and Donald. You're still the same Dad who, instead of leaving us to the foster system and most likely separating us, took us in and raised us as your own children,"
"I'd rather you not resort to such drastic measures ever again," Gray said. "But I understood the anger that you felt towards them. When Oswald Yang threw Stephen off the roof...I wanted to destroy him. I wanted him to suffer and to die. When I saw the news of Oswald Yang's death, I felt that he deserved it. I didn't feel any pity towards him or his corrupted family. If I were physically stronger like you or Donald, I might have taken things into my own hands,"
"Don't become a murderer," Orion advised. "Sometimes, the victims haunt you in your nightmares, even if you firmly believe they deserved to die. I never want you guys to suffer the horrors of taking someone's life,"
"You're still part of the family no matter what, little brother," Sophia said.
Orion smiled sadly. 'You don't know the full extent of what I've done. You only think I killed Lukas and Amy Kil, but I've killed more than just them. I'm a member of the Desert Kingdom mafia. Still...if I were to be sent into another universe...that means I'd no longer be part of the Desert Kingdom, right?' "Won't it be weird if two Orion Na's exist in the same universe?"
"The only people that exist in every single universe are Core Characters," Gijoo recalled. "Orion Na is not a Core Character so you're labeled as an Outlier and only exist in certain universes, but not all of them,"
The officer opened up the door. "Time's up so scram,"
XXX
"Why'd you call us here?" Alex asked.
"Did you find a way to get Orion out of jail?" Dean inquired.
"The only time we'd be able to see him again is when he's on his deathbed from his fatal illness," Janghyeok informed.
Dawn flinched. Even though, according to Gijoo, their father's soul would be sent to a copy of his body in another universe, the actual thought of their father dying was still horrifying.
"After he dies, the soul transference bracelet that I gave him will activate and send his soul to another universe," Gijoo revealed.
"Bro, were you stealing from Forrest Lee's drug stash?" Wolf deadpanned.
"I don't do drugs!" Forrest denied. "My eyes are red because I get dry eyes easily!"
"I'm sure most of you have heard of the multiverse," Gijoo explained. "This is Universe D-01746. I'm from Universe S-01412,"
"We're supposed to believe that?" Doyoon scoffed.
"If the multiverse does exist then why haven't there been any news articles about it?" Stephen inquired.
"Because in some universes only some people know about the multiverse while in others, it's a common thing and even used as a tourist activity," Gijoo stated.
"Do you have any proof?"
"My dimensional traveling equipment is broken at the moment," Gijoo sighed. "Believe me if you want. Don't believe me if you want. It won't change the fact that I gave Dad a soul transference bracelet,"
"I believe in the multiverse thing," Dongha said with a dramatic serious tone. "Our universe is currently a fictional story written by some guy called Skai Kaishi. We're actually part of a fanfiction,"
"In some universes, such as Universe A-00035, we are considered fictional characters of a Webtoon called Weak Hero," Gijoo recalled. "But I don't think we're part of a Webtoon in this universe. In this universe, the world we're in is the real world,"
"Aside from the whole dimensional thing," Janghyeok got everyone's attention. "Orion has confirmed that he is indeed afflicted by an incurable illness. So, as sad as it is to say, we must prepare for his death and plan his funeral as well as the ownership of all his properties,"
Universe A-00035 is Alice Na's universe from Two World's Collide.
I have finished prewriting all of Dawn Na. The final chapter is Chapter 67.
