As Shmuel and Bruno are being pushed in the crowd, Bruno tells Shmuel that he has to go home
"I have to go home Shmuel, I WANT TO GO HOME!"
Shmuel looks at Bruno with his worried eyes
"GO BRUNO! GO! DON'T WORRY ABOUT ME JUST GO!" as Shmuel yells in the roaring crowd
Bruno thinks about it if he can leave his friend in this mob, but he remembers that his parents must be worried sick and wondering where he is. Bruno decides that he has to go.
"Goodbye Shmuel, I'll see you again soon"
"Bye Bruno. I'll see you again too"
Bruno gives Shmuel a quick hug before squeezing through the crowd and manages to get out. He looks around if there are any soldiers around but the soldiers are too busy shoving people in the small confined space.
"BRUNO! BRUNO!! WHERE ARE YOU?" Mother shouts in the distance.
"BRUNO!!" Gretel yells.
Bruno overhears the cries of Mother and Gretel on the other side of the fence and makes a run for it. Yelling to get his mother's attention.
"MOTHER I'M OVER HERE" Bruno shouts as he's waving his arms in the air looking like a madman
Bruno goes to the fence and almost touched it, hearing the faint hum, he remembered that it's a electrical fence.
"BRUNO OH MY GOODNESS WHERE WERE YOU. I ALMOST THOUGHT WE LOST YOU FOREVER" Mother says as she's standing on the other side of the fence
Bruno climbs under the fence and quickly runs into his mother's arms. Gretel and Mother cried in relief that he was safe. Obviously Mother had a million questions on how he got there but saved them for later as it was raining really hard.
"BRUNO! BRUNOOOO!" Bruno's Father (Ralf) yells in the distance
"HE'S HERE! WE FOUND HIM!" Gretel shouts back in response.
Father and the other soldiers with him run to Bruno and the others and sighs in relief
"Oh thank goodness your safe" Father says in a relieved voice, but something caught his attention as he looks at Bruno. "Striped pyjamas?" he thinks to himself
"Bruno what are you wearing?" as Father is more concerned about the pyjamas than his own son
"Not's the time Ralf it's freezing cold, let's get him inside" Mother says
Father has a stern look in his eyes as he watches Bruno and the others go back to the house. "How on earth did he get those pyjamas" he mumbled under his breath
