The morning sun had risen a few hours ago, the birds chirping outside peacefully. The sound of boiling water emitting from a pot on the stove, the TV being merely white noise, and the silent rolling of wheels against the tiled floor. "While the person may have been released, people have speculated that they're currently hiding in the city. People have spotted them in grocery stores and workshops multiple times, however, no one dared to approach them. It remains unknown where they are, and where they live, and especially what they're doing." The scraping sounds of butter and garlic spreading against toasted bread were mixing along with the news channel on the TV, the man continuing to discuss prior events during Test Tube's trials.
With a heavy sigh, Cabby rolls towards the boiling pot on the stove, and slowly takes out the eggs and turns off the heat. Cracking the eggs and cutting some in half, she placed them onto a plate. She placed all the food onto a small foldable coffee table and sipped on her cup of coffee. On her plate was a piece of toast and two eggs, all of it topped with chopped spring onions. Cabby took a small bite from her toast, and stared at the other side of the table with another plate with its respective coffee mug, with coffee inside, and three eggs with the same kind of toast. Cabby groaned, making her way out of the living room and into the bedroom on the far side of her apartment. She knocked on the door a few times and stood there. "Hey, Test Tube, time to wake up." Cabby softly whispered. She waited by the door for a few seconds before opening it.
She found Test Tube laying on the bed, sprawled in different directions, and a cork in her tube hole. Test Tube snored, a little too loud for Cabby's liking. This was nothing like Test Tube, she never snored before ever since she started crashing at Cabby's place. She's always been a silent sleeper, but it seems last night's discussion had taken a toll on her. They were watching and discussing the tapes Test Tube had found before, going deep into discussion. The tapes themselves were extremely disturbing, too twisted and brutal for Cabby to handle. She had to look away for a total 46 times because of the final tape, which lasted 3-4 hours. Test Tube had wasted her energy last night crying, yelling, talking, and especially staying up to watch. Not that Test Tube wasn't already used to that.
After all, she hasn't had a good sleep in a while. Cabby should probably let her sleep in, but she's been sleeping for 10 hours already. She slowly rolled her way to Test Tube, gently nudging her body. "Hey Test Tube, let's get up." Weird how sloppy Test Tube is when she sleeps, like she's never slept in a proper bed before. Cabby stared at her for a few moments before nudging her a lot harder. "Test Tube!" The green object sat up a little too quickly, her head hitting Cabby's with a hard metal noise ringing through their ears. "Owww! Is that how you always get up?!" "You startled me! I was in a deep sleep!" They bantered for a few moments before exiting the bedroom. They settled down on the table and started to peacefully eat breakfast, the TV still on in the background.
"By the way, I thought we agreed on facing away while we sleep? Why was looking directly at your face earlier when I woke up?" Cabby chewed on her boiled eggs, and Test Tube rolled her eyes. "Because we both definitely have a conscious when we're asleep and can control everything we do." Cabby made a baffled scoff at Test Tube's sarcasm, looking up at the TV instead. I might lose my temper by just looking at her face. Cannot believe I defended this gremlin in court. "Hey Test Tube, you're famous by the way." Cabby pointed at the TV and Test Tube turned to it, watching as she drinks her mug of coffee. Cabby takes a sip from her coffee too, looking up at the TV. They both snickered when the news played a video of Test Tube leaping from her chair and pouncing on OJ in the middle of court. "You know, I still don't know why I wasn't sentenced for that." Test Tube looked at Cabby who laughed. "Honestly, when you were taken away from court, I actually thought you were sentenced since it was so sudden. I didn't know what was going on. I looked like a lost puppy in that courtroom." She sipped on her coffee with a laugh.
