The month of May came and went in a blink of an eye. Time passed by so fast, yet not fast enough for each of the student's past self who was stuck in the dreaded examination month. Students wishing they had more time, but simultaneously wishing for it just to be over, is simply the essence of the tumultuous closing chapter of every university term. Nevertheless, there's always light at the end of a tunnel. And the light after Edinburgh's examination-May is a long-awaited summer break.
To Maddie, summer means she gets to live out her light-academia dreams. Airy blouses, flowy skirts, vintage dresses - all the pretty, bright, light clothes she didn't get to wear in the colder two-thirds of the year. In fact, the girl just donned her favorite white, puffy-sleeved shirt and short skirt to go to an estate sale. The reflection in the mirror shows the petite student with short ginger hair, beaming with excitement.
It has been a while since she had the chance to roam an estate sale, one of her absolute favorite things to do. It's like a mini archeological discovery adventure - you go to a house left by the owner, in search of valuable things to purchase and bring home. The owner of the house may have left because they moved away, but, more often than not, because they passed away - things that are very familiar for an archeological student like Maddie. Doing estate sale thrift trips is like marrying her studies and her love for vintage and forgotten treasures.
