I logged off just as my alarm to go to bed went off, it was better that I headed to bed sooner rather than later. By the time I had, I felt like I knew the stranger I had been chatting to a bit more. Maybe I gave him a bit too much information about myself but I didn't feel adverse towards it.
Plugging my external hard drive into my laptop, I went through whatever new information I had gained from earlier that day as well as anything I had stolen from TurtleGenius. His knowledge on many topics was vast as he had notes and data on everything from how to create controlled black holes to what kind of cheese was the best cheese to put on a pizza.
He was genius with ADHD it seemed.
I bit my lip as pictures of Channel 6's field reporter April O'Neil and a detective for the NYPD, Casey Jones, came up within his personal files. They seemed to be getting along quite well as they posed together in what seemed to be an underground party. The next couple of pictures were what caught my attention in the first place.
I was in New York 10 years ago when rumors of something strange happening within the city's sewers started to go viral. It all started after a notorious gang went up in flames and their leader vanished without a trace. They called themselves the Foot Clan and at the time I remembered that Brian had made a joke about they probably got their name because of how they smelled.
I remember laughing as my dad made diarrhea jokes while my mom tried to reprimand the both of them as she tried to stop laughing herself. From TurtleGenius's information the rumors were true and he and his group with the help of the NYPD stopped the Foot Clan from trampling over the city any further.
TurtleGenius tried very hard to erase the rumors of their existence from any and all online platforms but people were crazy, especially conspiracy theorists. He was at war with them as they brought attention to their existence every couple of months, posting blogs, vlogs and articles about how the government was trying to hide experiments gone wrong in the sewers of New York.
They weren't wrong but I could see how that would disturb anyone who was just trying to live a peaceful lifestyle, albeit a vigilante lifestyle. TurtleGenius wasn't a bad guy, creature, or someone.
I didn't know what to call him or her until I met them Saturday evening.
It was getting late. I shut off my laptop, turned the bedside light off and covered myself with my comforter.
Tomorrow was another day.

"Avery, I need those files", Charles said as he walked over to my desk.
Handing them to him I slid my chair over to Julia's desk and handed her her's as well before she came to me in a panic.
"Eres un àngel", Julia said, taking the files before she and Charles ran towards the elevator.
Mid week was busier than usual as interns were running around without their heads, making copies, spilling coffee and making both Charles and Julia mad as they couldn't ask for my help since I was already busy with technical support. With our team leader gone and her assistant and secretary running around like crazy there wasn't anytime for mishaps. Even with the delay discount the actual client was unhappy with the delay and we've had to retract the date change as well as the coupon.
Luckily for us I had deleted the post about 5 minutes after we had uploaded it and only a hand full of people had actually seen. We could only hope no one took screenshots.
With the posts down and the physical advertisements on their way to New York by tomorrow morning, it seemed the launch date would actually happen on Friday. With the redecorating team working hard on site all we had to do was hope that the flyers and banners got to New York on time to be put up.
