Arthur pendragon x reader (bbc Merlin)

Chapter Seven

They decide to split up to trap the Afanc. Arthur hears a growl and the Afanc swipes at him from behind, then disappears. Morgana sees through the gaps between the pillars and rushes to Arthur. "Are you alright?" Arthur nods briefly wincing at the pain of the small slash on his back. "I saw it" Arthur says and glances around. Merlin starts walking towards the two but the Afanc comes up in front of Morgana which gave Arthur an opportunity to swing at it but it disappears and he drops his sword. "Shit" He says as he looks around seeing no trace of the creature. The Afanc one again comes out of nowhere and this time he swing with his torch. It scorches it so Arthur tries again as he does so Merlin whispers a spell to make the flames bigger. To this attack the Afanc incinerates. "Is it over?" Arthur asks directing his gaze to Merlin. "I Think so" They all let out a laugh of relief and leave the cavern

"This is wonderous news Gaius, thank you."

"Yes it is Sire, there have been no new cases reported and everyone who was infected will recover in time."

"Although I am still unclear on how it was managed to find and kill the beast."

"Actually father, it was my idea. After speaking all day searching the villages I thought to check the water cavern and came across the creature. I managed to defeat it and it was later identified as an Afanc." Uther proudly pats Arthur on the shoulder and Merlin rolls his eyes at Arthur taking credit.

Arthur paces around the room "Shouldn't she be getting better already?" "Athur, it's a slow process just wait she will soon recover and be able to work." Gaius stands up from his chair and leaves your room to you two alone. Arthur sits down and waits and grows impatient after only a few minutes he is back up pacing around. His hands trance the trinkets left on your desk and curiously picks one up, he soon gets bored and places it back down again. He sits down once more and looks at you, unknowingly a small smile plays at his lips as he admires your face. He then begins to tell you all about how he defeated the Afanc. "Do you ever get tired of your own voice?" You manage to splutter out with a hoarse throat. "Should I pretend to forget that comment, after all I am the Kings son and I could interpret that as offensive. You roll your eyes and say "You may be the Kings son but you are also a man you loves the sound over his own voice" you proceed to give a small laugh and he smiles. "I am glad you are better Y/n" You reflect his smile onto your face and take a swift look around the room, to notice that no one else is there. "Have you been here long?" You ask. "A certain amount of time" "What does that mean?"
"It means that I have been here for a time of that you do not need to know."
"Wanna know what I think Arthur?" Your once innocent smile transformed into a mischievous grin "I think you were actually concerned about your servant and to that I am honoured." You change your tone to dramatic and playful at the end of your sentence.For a brief moment Arthur becomes somewhat flusteredduring your sentence but is quick to regain composure. "Well of course I was concerned, I had to deal with Merlin for the past two days." You laugh and say "Hey, I have had to deal with him for years, two days is barely torture"
"I commend you then for managing to keep it together for this long." You shake your head and smile, Arthur stands up and walks to the door. "I am going to let you rest some more but I do want you to return to work as soon as you can"
"yes sire" And with that he walks out the door and you close your eyes.

So I have two questions. Would you guys rather me keep Morgana as good or for her character to be canonical? Also do you prefer when add my own twist or do you prefer to keep it as canonically as possible?
