Arthur pendragon x reader (bbc Merlin)

Chapter Three

Merlin and I are in Arthur's chambers, I am dusting and Merlin is trying and failing to put the bedsheet on the bed. I see his frustration grow and I start to giggle, which makes him even more annoyed. "You really are an idiot sometimes" I say to merlin. "Sometimes? that's putting it lightly." merlin and I stop to see Arthur standing in the doorway. "Hello, sire" I watch as Arthur shifts slightly "As my servants I expect you to be working not messing about." "We were just laughing, is it wrong to laugh?" I question Arthur. "you know what I mean y/n. I do not need any more stress as it is the tournament tomorrow and I am going to win it." I carry on cleaning already finished with the conversation. "are you listening, y/n" "I thought you wanted me to work sire" Again Arthur shifts as if he is uncomfortable. "well y/n finish off in here while I take Merlin with me to help me train."

There is a comfortable silence between Gaius and me as we each read our respective books. I hear rattling coming outside the door making an assumption that it merlin I get up and open up the door for Merlin. Merlin comes in with his armour messed up and Gaius and I start to laugh. Merlin collapses onto the chair next to me "How was it?" I ask "Ah! It was horrible and I've still got to learn all about tournament etiquette by the morning. Onhríne Achtung bregdan!"

"Oi! What've I told you about using magic like this?" Gaius slaps Merlin's head.

"If I could actually feel my arms, I'd pick up the book myself."

"Merlin, you know that you shouldn't use magic recklessly." I say to him

"I am being careful" Merlin protests and I roll my eyes

"What do I do if you get caught?"

"what would you do?"

"Well, you just make sure it doesn't happen, for all our sakes." Gaius says

"Ah! Y/n and I save Arthur from being killed and I end up as a servant. How is that fair?"

"I'm not sure fairness comes into it. You never know, it might be fun." Gaius answers Merlin

"You think mucking out Arthur's horses is going to be fun? You should hear my list of duties." I tell Gaius

"We all have our duties. Even Arthur."

"It must be so tough for him with all the girls and the glory." I get the same uncomfortable feeling that I had at the banquet a few days ago.

"He is a future king. People expect so much of him. He's under a lot of pressure."

Hey my dudes I decided to cut this off from the next main chapter because I wanted to get a chapter out to you all. it takes me a little more time to get the longer chapters out so I appreciate everyone waiting. I have two chapters in my drafts now which may turn to quite a few more I want to get at least a long chapter and a short chapter out before Christmas.
