she smirked as she shuffled the deck of playing cards before spreading them across the table in a perfect arc.

EXTENDED SUMMARY

on the twelfth hour of the first day of October 1989, forty-three women around the world gave birth. this was unusual only in the fact that none of these women had been pregnant when the day first began. sir reginald hargreeves, eccentric billionaire and adventurer, resolved to locate and adopt as many of the children as possible.

he got eight of them.

miriam hargreeves hated her father. that was no surprise, so did her other siblings. she hated how he stole her from her birthplace, she hated how he only called her 'number seven', she hated how he left her to be raised by a robot, she hated how he sent her to die every other week. but most of all, she hated that he died.

she had been doing good for herself over the past dozen or so years, making a fortune and getting banned from practically every casino in the tri-state area. and now she was back where she started, the place that she had escaped and swore never to return to, reuniting with the family she had no desire to ever see again, supposedly mourning a man she wanted dead for countless years.

oh, and her missing brother finally returned after fifteen years, looking the exact same as the day he left and frantically rambling about the end of the world.

NOTES

- inspired by the song "casino royale" by derivakat

- basically, miriam's powers are: tychokinesis (luck/probability manipulation), astral projection (she can basically walk out of her body and become like a ghost)

- she's number seven in the academy, and viktor is number eight

- let's just get one thing out of the way: she is a COMPLETE ASSHOLE

- she was definitely closest with five and ben when they were kids. after five when missing, she started to become more closed off, and after ben died, she turned really mean

- she was the first member of the academy to leave

- at least at first, this girl is bitchy, abrasive, and selfish and does not hesitate to let her family know how much she hates them and her father

- most of her aggression and rudeness is a front that she puts on to protect herself from getting too attached to and losing people

- she should grow to be more compassionate and loving towards her family by the end of the story though (we love to see character development here)

- honestly, most of the plot is up to you, i just came up with the idea of this character and i thought it would make for a really interesting story

- if you do want to give her a romantic interest IT BETTER NOT BE ONE OF THE OTHER HARGREEVES SIBLINGS OR I SWEAR I WILL BE TAKING THIS PLOT BACK JUST MAKE UP AN OC OR SOMETHING LIKE C'MON DON'T BE GROSS
