EXTENDED SUMMARY

travis henderson was definitely out of will byers' league. he was older, popular, athletic, and, probably the most damning of it all, dating polly kim.

but whether it was through blind hope or plain denial, will still thought he had a chance. 

and maybe he's right.

NOTES

- again, sorry for the absolute shitshow that is the extended summary, please please please do better than me

- travis and polly are both a year older than the party

- travis is the epitome of golden retriever boy 

- POLLY IS NOT THE VILLAIN IN THIS STORY!!!! she is a sweet, wonderful girl, and will feels awful for hating her throughout the story (and boy does he hate her)

- travis and dustin are really close, and they hang out a lot even as travis becomes older and more popular and athletic

- speaking of athletics, i was thinking that he would be on the football team or swim team or something (if he's on the swim team you could have a few interactions with steve because i think he's on the swim team or at least i want him to be)

- but back to travis and dustin, travis is very protective of dustin ever since their dad left, and he plays dnd and hangs out with the party regularly

- he's pretty much completely left out of s1, and has no clue about the upside down and all that fun stuff

- he and polly go trick or treating with the party dressed in a cute couples costume. maybe like han and leia from star wars or indiana jones and marion ravenwood from indiana jones

- he notices will acting strange, and goes to comfort him when he has the flashbacks

- the next day, he's still at school after swim/football/sport practice when he runs into will trying to look for dart

- they decide to look together, even though travis has like no clue what's going on, and they have these cute little interactions where it's sort of implied that travis might like will too

- travis becomes very worried when will gets possessed on the field, and insists on helping take care of will

- then he basically assumes the role of mike in that season, but make it more gay :)

- you can decide when polly and travis eventually break up and why (but make sure to make it an amicable break up because say it with me: POLLY IS NOT THE VILLAIN)

- you can choose whether or not you want to make polly a big character in the story after they break up, but i really hope you do because it would be nice to see woc rep. maybe she's a part of the scoops troop in s3 while travis deals with the whole flayed lifeguards thing

- will and travis get together at the end of season 3, and it takes a little while because they both have to come to terms with their sexualities

- speaking of which, TRAVIS IS BI!!!!! HE GENUINELY LIKED POLLY!!!

- OH AND IN S3 TRAVIS BECOMES A LIFEGUARD!! I NEED LIFEGUARD TRAVIS IN MY LIFE AND I ALSO THINK IT WOULD BE HILARIOUS READING ABOUT HIM TRYING TO DEAL WITH FLAYED BILLY

- our boy is also strong as hell. give him a fight scene and have him knock some heads he deserves that much (have you seen kit connor??? boy is built)

- and will's watching having this absolute mess of a gay crisis watching travis kick ass

- travis at some point comes out to dustin and dustin is like "ok chill" because we all know that boy is an ally

- maybe will also comes out to dustin and they tell him that they're dating and dustin's all like "ew that's gross. not because you're gay. because of travis." and he's like the only one that knows

- oh god please somebody take this plot i need to read this
