Adrian would be defeated and murdered alongside Alexis of Beatrice's Militia, by The Raven of Death. But this would not be so, as an anomaly would occur mere moments after Adrian's demise. Essence of darkness and dark storm-clouds would envelop the area and the fallen death agent. This unknown force would resurrect Adrian and have him take on the personification of Death Incarnate. The Dread-Lord would possess Adrian and callout to one of his former Agents of Death. Outraged at Raul's act of slaying Death's Reincarnation, The Lord of Souls and The Afterlife would inform the former Death Driven Agent of his approaching demise. Asadel's Raven would consider this the ability of Adrian's scythe and some false persona he had taken on as The Lord of Souls.

The Mercenary would draw forth his scythe once more and charge recklessly towards The Lord of Death. Raul would succeed in planting his blade within the skull of the resurrected Death-Agent, but would notice that The Hand of Decay had grabbed hold of his arm and caused his body to rapidly wither away. Has he parted, Death would command his fallen disciple to find peace in death. With the defeat of Raul, The Raven of Death, Adrian/Death would approach Alexis's decapitated head and body. By the power of The Lord of The Afterlife, The Hourglass of Life And Death would be called upon. The Militant fighter's demise was untimely and so, her soul would return to the earth and she would be completely restored to life.

Upon her resurrection, Alexis would consider that she was dreaming and just awoke from her sleep. But to her surprise, Adrian would stand before her in his normal form and inform her that she was killed, but it was not her time and so she resurrected. Adrian would reach out his hand to assist Alexis in standing up, as she proceeded to ask about Raul. Adrian would simply state that his lord claimed his soul, with Alexis giving him a confused expression. The Resistant fighter would look upon the fallen and mourn their death's, as Adrian stated; " Life and Death Are The Natural Order of This World. They Live on In You, So They Are Never Truly Gone."

Adrian would task Alexis with tending to the fallen, as he made his way towards the Royal Palace of The Holy City. As the sun was partially blocked by storm-clouds, Alyssa would find herself in the religious district of the city. To her surprise, she would find the people of the area on their knees and reciting a chant over and over. From their ranting, Alyssa would speculate that a figure within the area has enlightened them of the final battle between The Eternal Kingdom and Infernal Underworld. The Archangel of The Holy King would make several attempts to speak to these people, but they would appear to be in a deep trance. However, they directed their prayers towards a nearby ruined cathedral, which Alyssa headed towards.

Upon approaching the entrance to her surprise, Alyssa would be attacked by Hollow Soldiers, wielding ceremonial Swords. She would recognize their appearance as civilians who had died in the kingdom's conflict with Asadel and his men. Alyssa would dispose of them, by cleansing their remains with holy-flame and prayed for them to rest in peace. With the Hollow-Soldiers swiftly defeated, the holy-maiden would enter the ruined cathedral. Inside she would find several robed priests and civilians in the same state, as a religious figure preached of the coming of the Demon Queen and her army into the mortal realm. He would halt his sermon in order to address the Daughter of The Eternal Kingdom.

The Dark Clergymen would greet Alyssa, by introducing himself as, Brother Solomon of The Old Covenant. He would go on to explain, that he is a loyal servant of The Demon Prince, Asadel and greatly supported his efforts to open The Gates of The Underworld. Alyssa would ask Solomon, as she brandished her blade towards him, if he was the one who turned the fallen into those hollow soldiers she dealt with prior. Solomon would respond with a "yes", as he is gathering those who desired to serve his Demonic Lord and Matron, While preparing for the final battle. With no further need to speak towards the dark clergyman, Alyssa would unleash a wave of holy-flame upon him. Solomon would emerge protected, by a barrier thanks to his Ceremonial Staff.

While inside the barrier, Solomon would proceed to display his mistress's power, by using the staff to siphon the life force of all within the cathedral and convert them into his personal army of hollows. As they embraced their transformation and marched towards Alyssa, she would have no choice but to defend herself from them. Displaying her might once again as an Archangel, The Dark-Priest would test the holy-soldiers faith, by resurrecting the remains of Prince Sebastian to face her in battle. Alyssa would be in shock, as she could not bring herself to strike down the hollow prince. She would manage to defend herself for a time, but the hollow would manage to deal her some damage with is great-sword.

As this was happening, Solomon would insult the Holy-King and mock Alyssa's faith in him, questioning her about why her god would allow him to commit such a taboo. The Archangel would address his questions by stating that the Holy-King had guided her to him, in order to pass on his judgement. The Minister of The Covenant would continue to mock and question the Holy-King's inability to strike down those within the mortal plane with his own hands. Solomon would offer her a chance to join his covenant and aid him in ushering in The Reign of The Underworld. Alyssa would decline, as The Clergyman cast a dark spell upon her blade. This would drain the blade of all it's divine-energy, rendering it as a normal claymore.
