3rd Person's POV

The car came to a halt, they were here. At a drug dealer's house in the middle of nowhere, trying to find a potential murderer. Also it was practically night time, making it all the more eerie.

Dustin walked up to the door and rang the bell once. Twice. And then a couple more times.

"Okay. Well, that's settled. I guess he's not here." Steve sighs.

Dustin then started banging on the door, "Eddie! It's Dustin!"

"Yes let's announce ourselves to the murderer." Valerie remarked.

"Look we just wanna talk, okay? No cops I swear. We just wanna help." Dustin kept trying.

Max and Robin shined their flashlights through the window, trying to look inside while Dustin remained at the door.

"Hey, guys?" Max yelled.

Everyone walked over to see what she was looking at.

It was a shed.

This time when Robin gave the door a push it creaked right open, "Hello? Is anyone home?"

"What a dump." Valerie took a look at her surroundings.

Steve suddenly took a paddle and started hitting.... a boat.

Valerie sighed.

"What are you doing? What are you doing?" Dustin hissed.

"He might be in here." Steve kept hitting at the plastic covering it.

"So take the tarp off?" Valerie suggested.

"If you're so brave, you take the tarp off." Steve whisper-yelled.

"Hey, look over here." Max picked up food packets from the table, "Someone was here."

"Maybe he heard us. Got spooked and ran." Robin thought out loud.

"Don't worry. Steve will get him with him oar." Dustin said and Valerie chuckled.

"I know you Hendersons think you're being funny, but considering the fact that everyone in this room has nearly died a hundred times, personally, I don't find it funny in the slighte-"

Suddenly a man leapt up from underneath the tarp, pushed Steve until he was up against the wall and held a broken glass bottle against his throat.

It was Eddie Munson, of course.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, Eddie! Eddie! Stop!" Dustin screamed out.

Valerie told him to shush and walked up to them, "Munson, I will rip your hair out if you hurt Steve."

Eddie frowned as he turned to look at her, subconsciously running a hand through his hair, "Val?"

"It's Valerie." She grabbed the collar of his jacket and yanked him away from Steve, although the only reason she could do it is because he let her.

"What are you doing here?" He glances over all of them.

"We're looking for you. We're here to help." Dustin attempts to calm him down, "These are my friends. You know Robin, from band. That's Max, the one who never wants to play D&D."

Max gives him a small wave.

"Eddie, we're on your side." Dustin says.

"We are?" Valerie leans in and whispers to Steve.

"I swear on my mother." Dustin promises.

"I mean, he just swore on your mother. So I guess we are now." Steve whispers back.

When Eddie realized they really weren't any threat to him, he finally let his guard down. Exhausted, he backed away until he hit the wall, and slowly slid down until he was sitting on the floor.

It almost made Valerie feel bad for him. Almost.

Dustin crouched down in front of him, "We just want to talk," Dustin tried grabbing his arm but he flinched away, "okay." He retreated a bit.

Robin knelt down as well, "We wanna know what happened."

Eddie sniffs, "You won't believe me."

And despite being the most against this idea out of everybody else, "Try us." Valerie said.

Eddie gave in and started explaining what happened last night.

"Her body just, like, lifted up into the air and, uh... and she just like, hung there." His voice came out shaky, "In the air. And her bones.."

He closed his eyes, "Her bones started to snap. Her eyes man," He shook his head, "I-It was like there was something, there was something like, inside her head, pulling."

Remember that lingering thought at the back of Valerie's mind? She was trying her hardest to keep it there.

"I... I didn't know what to do, so I ran away. I left her there." He looked up to see every person in the room staring at him.

"You all think I'm crazy, right? He scoffs.

"No. We don't think you're crazy." Dustin mumbles comfortingly.

"Don't bullshit me man! I know how this sounds." Eddie puts his head in his hands.

"We're not bullshitting you." Valerie says, when honestly, she wished that she was.

"We believe you." Max says.

Eddie shakes his head.

"Look, what I'm about to tell you might be a little... difficult to take." Dustin starts.

"Okay?" Eddie looks up.

"You know how people say Hawkins is... cursed? They're not way off. There's another world, a world hidden beneath Hawkins. Sometimes it bleeds into ours."

"Like ghosts and shit?" Eddie frowned.

"There are some things... worse than ghosts." Max says.

"These monsters from this other world... we thought they were gone. But they've come back before. That's why we needed to find you." Dustin continues.

"If they're back again, we need to know." Valerie said.

"Did you see anything? Dark particles maybe?" Max asks.

Eddie shook his head.

"It would almost look like dust, swirling dust."

"No, man, there was nothing you could see or, uh... or touch. You know I tried to wake her man... she couldn't move. It was like she was in a trance or something."

"Or under a spell." Dustin said.

"A curse." Eddie looked up.

"Vecna's curse." Valerie recalled from the game yesterday.

"Who's Vecna?" Steve asked.

"An undead creature of great power. A spellcaster. A dark wizerd."
