I didn't know things at home had been that bad. They were so bad her dad came all the way over to my house just to beat her. I didn't know things could have gotten that bad. Apparently they were not. Apparently things were never that bad. It was one slap across the face and that's it. I just don't understand why it even got that bad. Why did Kassys parents want her home so badly. I broke the kiss looking her right in the eyes. Kassy why didn't you tell me. Tell you what she looked down at her hands. She started playing with her hands and started to sniffle. I know its hard but you cant do this on your own. There are people that love you and are wanting to help you. I grabbed her hands and she looked up with tears in her eyes. I'm here and I will always be I love you More than anything you know that right, she looked at me and hugged me tightly. I hugged her back and let her cry. She cried till she fell asleep. I layed there holding her close not wanting to let go of her.
I was startled awake the next morning to my alarm. I felt something heavy on my chest. It was  pleasant heavy. I wrapped my arms around Kassy holding her tight. "Honey time to get up" my mom was talking as she opened the door. She looked at me smiled and said "why dont you wake her up sweetheart". Ok mom. She walked out of the room and closed the door. I looked down at kassy. She looked so peaceful i didnt want to wake her up. "Kas wake up" I shook her lightly. "No I wanna stay like this forever" she cuddled closer to me hugged me tighter. "OK love" we cuddled till we fell asleep.
The next morning I woke to a beautiful head on my shoulder. I kiss her forehead lightly not wanting to wake her up knowing she might start crying again. She's lost both her parents and her mother could die any day now. I move slowly out from under her so i dont wake her up that way. I leave my bedroom knowing a good way to cheer her up. I walk down stairs quietly not wanting to wake anyone else up. When I go downstairs I start making breakfast and coffee.
My plan for the day was to take Kassy out and let her spend as much of my money as she wants. Knowing her though she won't want to buy anything. So I'm going to buy anything that puts a sparkle in her eye. When I'm done cooking I go upstairs and wake up Kassy. "Goodmorning love" I say as I sit down next to her. She shifts and starts waking up. "Good morning" she stretches and looks at me with a smile. "Breakfast is ready then we're going shopping". "With what money?" she looks annoyed. "With my money if you want something tell me and ill buy it were going to all your favorite stores". She groaned "finnnneee". She looked at me and rolled out of bed.

"You don't have to do this ya know". "I know I just feel like you have had a rough past couple of days and you need this". She rolled her eyes and looked out the window. I placed my hand on her thigh and watched as she blushed. She blushed so easily. I chuckled. "What are you laughing at" she looked at me. "I just find it funny how easily I can make you blush". She grabbed my hand and pushed it off her thigh. She stuck her tongue out and I laughed again. She literally makes me the happiest person in the entire world. She could smile and i would just be happy for the rest of the day.

When pulled into the book store parking lot. "You're joking right now right?" She looked out the window. "What?" I said pulling the keys out of the ignition and chuckling a little bit. "This is like the most expensive book store in town!" "I know I just thought this would be your favorite place to go today". She jumped out of the car and yelled "I'M NOT GETTING ANYTHING". I got out of the car and followed her. "Babe anything you pick up i'll buy it". She started laughing. We walked into the store and her eyes immediately started glowing. I've known since the day that I met her that books where her safe space.
