"How can you move forward when you keep regretting the past?"

"Chikara?" he said, seeing if the older was awake yet. The couch wasn't the most comfortable but they agreed to take turns sleeping on the bed and couch.

"Yeah? Do you need anything?"

"Sorry, did I wake you up?"

"No, I was awake. Damn birds are loud.. How was your sleep?" he turned around to face the younger male since he didn't want to seem rude.

"It was good.." his eyes trailed down to the floor, signalling to Ennoshita that something was wrong.

"Is something bothering you..?"

"SHOYO!" someone yelled from a distance, the face was unclear to the ginger haired boy. The voice seemed familiar but he couldn't place his finger on it.

Fire!?

"Shoyo, run!" the person tried reaching him. He didn't succeed and had fallen into the fire, clearly dying.

Hinata's eyes widened upon the scene. His body couldn't move as if someone froze it. Yet he was still trembling, the scene of the person screaming in agony from the pain they had received.

Finally he got himself to move and ran as the fire spread as if sonic was the one leading it. He dashed to the door and opened it, almost tripping at how panicked he was.

He ran down the stairs, holding the railing. He jumped down at the last 5, him holding onto the railing made sure he didn't trip and fall to his demise.

Hinata's heavy panting was heard by no one as he suffers in this fire.

Finally he made it out. He saw his some of his classmate's bodies laying still, nurses rushing to get them in an ambulance.

Again, he was frozen and useless. He couldn't do anything. He wished he could stop the fire, save his friends, save the school.

What am I thinking? I'm just a boy in middle school. I can't do anything. I have no purpose.. Someone even tried saving me and died in the process.

Hinata sighed and walked home, wanting to avoid getting burned by the fire. His mom would be checking every inch of his body to make sure he's all right if she knew about the fire.

What even caused it anyway? A science experiment failure?

The middle schooler walked with his hands in his pant's pockets. He kept sighing and-

"Are you sure you're fine?"

"Yeah, don't worry 'bout it." he lifted his orange colored blanket and wore his slippers before heading into the bathroom. Doing what he normally does; brushing his teeth and showering, he went downstairs. Ennoshita had followed him right after once he was finished with his routine as well.

"Pancakes are for breakfast. Syrup is in the cabinet to the left. If you want toast, get some bread on the table. "

"Mk, thanks." he said before grabbing a piece of bread abd popping it into the toaster.

They finished breakfast quickly and is now sitting on the sofa in the living room with nothing to do. Both were either typing on their phones or scrolling through social media.

"Any plans for today? There's an awkward silence. I would love to remove that." Hinata said, emphasizing on the word 'love' on purpose.

"Grocery shopping is tomorrow, today's basically a free day."

"Could we go to the park? A sunflower or dandelion field?"

"Sur-"

Before even hearing Ennoshita's answer fully, Hinata grabbed his hand and dashed through the door, eager for the outside world.

This is my life now, huh?

They stopped to catch their breaths and walked for the next 10 minutes. They got to their destination soon enough and Hinata opened the gate to the dandelion field.

"You really adore them, hm?" Ennoshita said. From his observations, Hinata's eyes always sort of light up when seeing these flowers. As if his life was in a book or on TV. Possibly a movie.

"Yeah, before one of my friends passed away.. We used to adore flowers and couldn't even choose a favorite. An hour before he died, we each chose a flower we find most interesting. Dandelions was mine and that became my favorite flower along with sunflowers."

"Oh? What about them?"

"For one, they represent 3 celestial bodies in different phases of their life cycle. The yellow flower part resembles the sun, dispersing seeds of thr plant represents the stars and the puff ball of a dandelion is shown as the moon!"

"If you just had ⅒ of the same knowledge on flowers as other subjects, you might just do well in class."

"Hey! I try my best.. Flowers and volleyball are much easier to understand!"

"It's just your passion and what you like. The whole team can tell how serious you get while playing volleyball. Although that one time when you jumped without hitting gave me second hand embarrassment, you're great at it."

"Where the hell did I find that good of a friend!?" Hinata said, being dramatic, he very poorly acted as if he was crying and wiping his tears.

Friend...

"Should we get going? It's getting late. More and more people had been getting injured during these times. They might take advantage of the fact you have a small build." Hinata was offended by this and being him, said his mind.

"I may be small but I have enough energy. I play volleyball and hitting the ball can do damage, some needs to have greater force than others. If I use the same force as I do-"

"Alright, alright, alright. You can protect yourself. But we should still head home. It takes around 25 minutes to walk. It was quicker only because you ran while dragging me here."

"Ah- right, sorry. I was just excited."

"I could tell."

The walk home was full on embarrassment for Hinata. But he tried lighting the mood by giving him morr facts about dandelions, even if it was boring, it's better than silence.

"They can live 10-13 years in the wild!"

"Dandelions could be 2-24 inches tall. That's literally 2 feet right there! I'm glad I'm not one."

"Their name come from the french term 'dent de lion.' Which basically means 'tooth of the lion.' Though I'm not sure what that has to do with the actual flower-"

The sky grew darker and darker, the night sky almost turning pitch black. The bird's singing has died down as each had fallen asleep in their cozy, soft nest. Hinata also started running out of facts as he usually had them in a notebook.

"Better be ready, dinner's happening at midnight." Ennoshita joked as he finally realized they spent hours there.

"Nooo!! My precious sleep!!"

The older chuckled at the uounger's response to his statement. But he started concentrating more on making dinner, food is important after all-
