"No matter how many people you may lose, you have no choice but to go on living- no matter how devastating the blows may be."

Ennoshita didn't actually think this was going to happen. He was just going to visit and turned out to be something he'll never forgive himself for.

Ennoshita's POV

I missed Shoyo and decided to visit him. Before doing that, I had texted his mom beforehand to notify her.

I was walking on the sidewalk and enjoying the cool breeze since it was morning, the sun wasn't too great. Everyone was rushing to get to work on time and people doing morning jogs.

I had my air pods in my ears, my playlist playing while I savored this perfect morning. I was going to compromise things on what happened between me and him.

I arrived at Hinata's house, knocking on the door since their doorbell broke and is in the process of being repaired. The door swung open and I was greeted by Mrs. Hinata.

"Good morning, Mrs. Hinata." I said while stepping into the house and taking off my shoes, walking around with just plain white socks.

"Hello Ennoshita. Shoyo right now is in his room, he refused to come out yesterday when he cane back home. I'm not sure what happened but see if you can get him out, I'm worried he'll starve to death."

"Ah, he did? I'll see what I cab do Mrs. Hinata."

"Thank you. You'll see two doors painted orange, the left one is Shoyo's." she replied, a smile plastered on her face.

When I left the area, I heard Mrs. Hinata say, "oh young love." that alone had made me blush, my mind wondering into what would look like if me and Shoyo were dating...

I was walking up the stairs, my hand sliding across the railing. I saw two rooms, painted orange just like what Mrs. Hinata said. I knocked on what I think was Shoyo's door, entering to see a horrifying sight.

There was blood all over the room, red painting the walls. At the center, Hinata was hung by a rope and standing on a chair.

"No, no, no!" I rushed to him, in hopes that he had done this just this morning and was still alive. I untied the rope and checked if he was breathing, no. I went to putting my ear over the spot where his heart is, nothing. He was dead already.

I brought Shouo's dead body downstairs, hating myself for letting him go. I should've never let him go and maybe he wouldn't have left me.

When Mrs. Hinata saw Shoyo's body, she screamed in horror and dashed towards me. I handed her her son and let her do it, Shoyo's her son after all. I just standed awkwardly by the side.

I felt so useless when they carried him away. Possibly what sparked inside of me to become a doctor.

"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams."

I was holding flowers, dandelions to be specific. Some sunflowers were in it too. I held it down and left it there, recalling those intriguing facts he had said.

"I love you." that's the only thing I said.

A month after his death, I wondered why he had suicided. The conversation wouldn't make him end his own life and his past was only kept to himself, not even Mrs. Hinata knows. My only thinking now was that he was murdered and they used suicide to cover it up.

I just had to throw in some money for police to keep this investigation going.

I had gotten a call when I was eating lunch, a simple peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I picked up my phone and answered the caller, unknown to who it was.

"Hello?"

"We've caught the murderer."
