(told in perspective of Matthew)
The pass opens but the Sols and Luna's have both come to stop them. They get ready to fight, even thought they are severely outnumbered. The rest of Matthews team decides to fend them off while Matthew goes up the stairs.

As Commander Alberta maniacally laughed behind us, we ran to the mountain pass as fast as we can. "Tell me again why she's after us?" I looked at Pandal.

"Umm, let's just say when I betrayed her, I also stole a car from their garage..." Pandal gave an awkward laugh. I sighed and look back at Alberta and her army. They had started to raise their guns and Alberta had her hand in the air. My eyes grew wide.

"Everyone get down!!!" I yelled, shots fired everywhere, and we had taken cover behind a giant rock and the tree next to it.

"How are we supposed to finish our mission now?" Danny pulled out her gun and shot at a few soldiers, they fell down and Danny hid again.

"I don't know? I wasn't exactly expecting an army..." I growled in frustration.

"Come on guys, we need a plan." Draco said nervously. We all sat behind the rock, trying to figure out what to do.

"Dracos right..." I shrugged, "...everyone, throw out ideas, starting now."

"I have some explosives still in the car..." Danny held up a detonator.

"Whoa whoa whoa, not yet Danny, that'll only stall them for a few seconds, we need to figure out what to do after you set them off. Plus, their to far away from the car at this point." I gently took the detonator from Danny and she sighed with disappointment.

"Fine, so what's the rest of the plan genius." Danny asked me, clearly annoyed. Suddenly, Pandal's dog barked. I suddenly realized what we could do.

"I've got it." I smiled and everyone looked at me, expectantly. "We send the dog out in the field as a distraction, then when they least expect it, we'll come out from behind the rock and start shooting, the Lunas will have no choice but to push back, then Danny, you can set off the bomb when their close enough to the car."

"That is the most stupid plan I have ever heard." Cassandra sighed, "But I guess since we don't have any better ideas..." We all smiled.

"But what about my dog?!" Pandal yelled.

"What about him?" I asked.

"He'll get shot if he goes out there!"

"Not if the Lunas have any ounce of love left in their hearts they won't."

"But how do you know that for sure?" Pandal complained.

"Look, do you want to get out of here or not?" I asked him. He sighed then nodded.

"Fine, but if my dog gets shot, it's your fault." He started to tear up then he crouched down to his dog and hugged him. "Don't die? Alright?" I heard him whisper. Then he let go of his dog and the plan went into motion. The Luna's stopped shooting for a second, leaving them off guard long enough for us to catch them by surprise. We all stood up from behind the rock and we started shooting, pushing them back to the car.

"Now!" I yelled at Danny, she pressed the detonate button and the car blew up, taking out at least half of the Luna army.

Suddenly an army of Sols appeared and the shooting grew twice as loud.

We heard Alberta scream, "Regroup! Get back into formation."

"What do we do now?" Draco yelled over Danny's shooting.

"Run!!"

We all bolted towards the rocks again and took cover. I frantically shot as many people as I could, but there was just to many, "Matthew." Cassandra was sitting next to me now.

"What's wrong?" I asked her.

"Our last hope is to complete the mission, and to stop this war once and for all." She looked at me and patted me on the shoulder.

"No, you can't possibly be suggesting..." I paused for a moment and started to tear up.

"How else are we gonna beat an entire two armies?" Cassandra gave a faint smile.

"No, I can't leave you guys down here to die, it isn't fair!" Tears now rolled down my face.

"Your not leaving us to die Matthew, your giving us a chance to get out of here, but you blow that chance if you don't leave now." Cassandra pointed towards the mountain pass and I shook my head.

"Are you sure everyone wants to do this?" I asked concerned.

"Yes..." She looked around at everyone then back at me, "I'm sure." She gave me her hiking backpack and I took it, hesitantly. "Ok guys, huddle in." Everyone crouched down in a huddle. "When Matthew makes a run for the pass, we need to cover him, meaning, we have to be more of a distraction than Danny's car bomb."

"I can do that." Danny smirked and grabbed two guns, loading both of them. We all backed up a bit and she pulled out some explosives she had just randomly been carrying around in her pockets.

"How?... You know what, I'm not gonna ask." Draco shook his head then smiled.

"Let's do this." Everyone was now loading their guns.

"Good luck." I told them and they all smiled and nodded.

"Ok Matthew, now!" Cassandra whispered and I ran as fast as I could to the pass, I heard explosions and Danny's maniacal laughs in the background. I kept running, inching closer and closer to the past, closer to figuring out what happened to my parents, and most importantly closer to ending this war.
