*Josh's POV*
I wake up to the sound of my alarm buzzing off on my phone.
'Yayyy, first day of being a lifeguard'
I thought to myself, I get up and feel the cool breeze in my room hit my body. I get dressed in my swimsuit for duty and grab a hoodie I got when I got the job. I go outside and walk Jim for a little then I go to put him back home, I grab a cap and get to the beach.

I climb up on the life guard tower and sat down, I let the breeze hit my tired face. My eyes closed until I felt a nudge on my shoulder,
"Don't be sleeping on your first day now dude."
I look at the person speaking, it was Halsey.
"I wasn't, plus I don't think people are going to the beach at 7:00 in the morning." I say, sighing.
"Don't think that, residents here come at 7:00 through 8:30 so tourists don't take the good spots." Halsey said laughing. "Hope you are prepared for the girls checking you out. Unless you're used to that already." She said nudging me, I look at her with wide eyes.
"I'm not that use to it." I told her, she laughed.
I start to look around to see if anyone has arrived yet. Yeah people have, I feel my heart start to pound. Then Halsey grabbed my shoulder,
"Don't worry dude, it's mainly kids who try to impress the life guards. Most girls know to respect the guys." I let out a breathy sigh "Anyways dude, I'm gonna go help people at the front with the parking. Bye!"
"Bye." I said quietly, I watched Halsey jump off the life guard tower and walk over to the people doing the parking. Time to just sit here.

I was scrolling through my twitter when I felt eyes gaze on me. I tried to ignore it by looking at the ocean, but my eyes gazed to the person staring at me. It was the guy that freaked out at stop & shop, and we made eye contact again. This time he didn't break it, his eyes had like a milk chocolate color. I quickly broke the eye contact and looked at the ocean again, feeling my face heat up. I then heard a girl say
"That's a cute life guard" and another girl agreeing with her. I just ignored them and went back to my phone, when I heard Halsey's voice
"Oh my fucking god! Is that fucking Melanie Martinez, Tyler Joseph, and Hayley Williams?!"
I turn my head towards that direction, and listened to them talk
"Oh my god! Ashley! I didn't know you are here!" A girl with bangs and half and half hair said
"I'm working as a life guard this year for some extra money and college!" Halsey responded, I turned my head away and looked back at my phone.
"Josh!" I heard Halsey say, I turned my head to her "Come down here and meet my friends!" I listen to her and I climb down the tower and walk towards them.
"Salutations." I try to give them a nice smile
"Hello!" A girl with a straight bob and bangs responded back with a smile
"Hi, I'm Tyler." The boy said, having his hand out for me to shake. I grab it shaking it
"I'm Joshua, but you can call me Josh." I told him,
"I'll stick with Joshua" He said smiling. I smiled back and looked at the two girls
"I'm Melanie and this is Hayley" The girl with the half and half hair says pointing to the girl who said hello to me earlier
"How did you even meet him Hal?" Hayley asked Halsey. I guess Hal is one of her nicknames.
"He was just sitting at a bench in front of the JFK museum on his phone, with the cutest dog ever." Halsey exclaimed,
"Jim is the cutest dog ever." I added to Halsey's response.
I watched Melanie let out a scoff
"I don't know, I have multiple friends who have cute dogs. I would just have to see him myself Josh."
Tyler let out a little laugh, and I sat next to him on the blanket. While Halsey sat next to Melanie.
"Wait, what school did you guys go to?" I ask trying to bring up a conversation
"Oh, we went to Honey Valley High School" Tyler responded
"Wait, same?" I responded honestly confused, I've never seen them there.
"I have never seen you there." Melanie stated
"It was in Columbus Ohio right?" I asked, Tyler responded
"yeah?.." I looked at Tyler "Wait! That's why you look so familiar!" Tyler stated
"Wait! I saw you at Stop & Shop! You do look familiar! You were in my English class!" I said, "But, why did you hurry off?" I asked him
"I- uh- uhm ehh" He stumbled off his words
"Oh my god! Just fuck already!" Melanie said
"I- WHAT THE FUCK!" Tyler yelled, I felt my face heat up
"Gay panicccccccccc~" Melanie sang, I saw Tyler look at me.
"How do you know? What if I have really bad social anxiety." Tyler snapped at Melanie
"I know you do but-"
"No butts" Tyler said cutting her off, he smiled and I chuckled.
"I mean if he is fine with it, I would go for a fuck" I jokingly said
"WHAT THE HELL!" he yelled, and everyone just laughed.
"I'm just joking" I said pausing and letting out a smirk "unless." I watched his face get pink "Just kidding."
Time past by, Tyler, Melanie, and Hayley said their byes and left. I did give Tyler my number seeing if we could hang out more. After my shift, I went home and walked Jim for a little then got changed into my pajamas. I was about to go to bed when I felt my phone buzz, I looked at the text and it said:
'Hey it's Tyler from the beach :)'
Well that's a good thing to go to bed to. I get into bed turning off my lights and I fell asleep.
