"Yeah but for the fall,
Do you dare to look him right in the eyes?"

Sitting down at the table with a bowl of honeyed-cereal, Brooklyn watched with a mixture of awe and disgust as Connor Wilson drench his scrambled eggs and three slices of toast in maple syrup."So, the question is, who in S.H.I.E.L.D could launch a domestic missile strike?" Natasha Romanoff asked, throwing her now pin-straight red hair over her shoulder as she watched the hovering men with calculative eyes. Sam Wilson shrugged, casually buttering a slice of toast and absentmindedly placing it on her son, Nathan's piling plate. The red-headed Boy simply gave him a tight smile, his fourth one that morning, and continued to nibble on his second slice.
Steve Rogers, who had been brooding over a cup of dark brown coffee suddenly groaned, rubbing his chin in annoyance.
"Pierce." He answered, the name sounding more bitter out of his mouth than the sugarless drink in front of him. Natasha nodded, standing up to pace slightly.
"Who happens to be sitting on top of the most secure building in the world." She continued, snatching a slice of toast from her Son's place and ripping a piece off before stashing the morsel in her mouth.
"But he's not working alone," Steve interjected, his brows furrowed, "Zola's algorithm was on the Lemurian Star."
Natasha paused, mid-chew, and looked over at Steve. Brooklyn could see the cogs turning while she sipped on her sweetened milk with her spoon, eyeing Nathan's toast too. Natasha swallowed her bite, poking her tongue into her cheek.
"So was Jasper Sitwell."
Steve paused in his brooding to turn his head towards her, watching her grim expression between further bites of her stolen bread. Realisation dawned over his face and his hand tightened over his mug. Brooklyn hoped he would control himself and not break one of Sam's cups out of anger, but Steve breathed out once, his eyes darting to the closed blinds.
"So, the real question is, how do the two most wanted people in Washington kidnap a S.H.I.E.L.D officer in broad daylight?" He voiced, sounding annoyed.
"Don't forget 'and two most recognisable child-agents'." Connor interjected before taking a bite out of his sweet, sticky eggs.
"The answer is," Sam walked over, giving his Son a parental look, "You don't."
Something thumped on the table and Brooklyn jumped, her hand jerking away from where it had been reaching for Nathan's plate. Nathan noticed her intentions, and scowled at her while Brooklyn sheepishly grinned. Sighing, Nathan pushed his breaded-plate towards her, holding his cup of juice to his chest.
"What's this?" Steve asked, standing up from his chair and pushing the coffee mug away as he eyes the folder Sam had thrown onto the breakfast scene.
"Call it a resume." Sam answered sceptically with a small smile. Out of the corner of her eye, Connor's hand stilled from where his fork was lifted to his mouth. Brooklyn noted the action while she swiped a slice of toast from the plate, the melted butter a salty contrast to the sweet milk taste in her mouth. Natasha swiftly picked up the folder, glancing at it once over.
"Is this Bakhmala?" Her eyes scattered over the page before flicking up to meet Sam's gaze, "The Khalid Khandil mission, that was you."
She passed the folder over to Steve, raising an eyebrow at him as she did, "You didn't say he was a para-rescue."
