THE next morning was slightly better. Elexia now knew her way around the school and she met some people she liked. Not to mention, her and Bella got closer after they ended up hanging out for hours after school.

It wasn't raining yet, which surprised her a bit. She always expected to wake up to rain in Forks. It definitely was cloudy though, which meant she could expect rain - to no surprise. Mike joined Bella and Elexia in English, and walked Bella to her next class, while Eric walked Elexia. People weren't staring at her as much as yesterday, to her relief. She sat with Jessica and her friends again, but Mike and Eric joined them this time and she talked more to the girl named Angela, who was shy, but very sweet.

Nevertheless, Elexia was still plagued with anxiety when she thought about Rosalie Hale. She dreaded lunch all morning, even debated eating in the bathroom, feeling pathetic and defeated.

When she walked into the cafeteria with Jessica and Bella, trying her hardest to keep her eyes away from the Cullen-Hale table, she failed almost immediately and looked over. Edward wasn't there, and Rosalie wasn't looking at her. Instead, she was engrossed in a conversation with Alice, looking serious as ever.

Elexia didn't enjoy lunch at all. No matter how much everyone talked, she felt this pit in her stomach, telling her someone was watching her. Yet, she refused to look. She was too scared. She was terrified of Rosalie Hale - at the same time, she was terribly attracted to her. Or, her looks, anyway.

She walked to Chemistry with her head down, staring at the floor as she walked in, unable to meet Rosalie's eyes or even let her see her face. Elexia sat quietly, minding her business; but Rosalie saw the way her hands were shaking. She placed her hand on her stomach again - something she did when anxiety threatened to overtake her. The Hale girl learned to pick up on all of these nervous actions, it seemed.

"Hi," Rosalie spoke, soft, once the teacher began talking, angling her body so she was facing Elexia.

Elexia's head was slightly down, her long blonde hair obscuring Rosalie's view of her face. Her eyes went wide when the other blonde spoke. Her voice was just as perfect as her face. She looked reluctantly at her, scared.

"I didn't mean to make you cry yesterday," The slight wince on Rosalie's face showed regret and true empathy. "I wasn't having a very good day. My brother, Edward, was being a jerk and I argued with my sister Alice. I'm Rosalie, by the way. You're Elexia." She pronounced her name perfectly.

Elexia's throat was dry and she swallowed hard. "Hi, Rosalie. It's okay."

They didn't talk much after that, opting to focus on work after the teacher sent them multiple glares when they tried to speak - but Rosalie was relieved she apologized to the beautiful, innocent and delicate girl and Elexia was relieved Rosalie didn't hate her.

"Talk more tomorrow?" Rosalie smiled softly, hopeful, as the bell rang and they both stood up.

Elexia smiled back, content. "Yes."

After Bella's volleyball incident with Mike, the school day finally came to a close and Elexia felt lighter than she did in the morning.

Elexia and Austin bonded over dinner, after she got off the phone with her mom. They opted for chicken and broccoli, blasting music as they cooked. She was grateful to bond with her dad - he was like her one true built-in best friend and she was blessed to have him, free of all judgement. A lot of kids didn't have that.

"So, how has school been? Meet anybody?" Austin asked once they sat down and began eating.

"There's this girl named Jessica, who I have a class with and eat lunch with. She's kind of annoying," Austin laughed at this; it was very much like Elexia to find someone annoying after a couple of days. "And there's a guy named Mike. He's sweet, has heart eyes for Bella, which is incredibly obvious. He's been very helpful, for both me and Bells." Elexia refrained from mentioning the details of Rosalie, not sure if she wanted her father to know about the whirlwind of emotions that one girl caused her.
