ELEXIA took a deep breath when Rosalie set her on her feet in front of her house. All the lights were on; Austin was home and he was waiting for her. She wasn't sure what to say to him. She didn't want to break his heart too much. Charlie would only be losing Bella - Austin would be losing Elexia and his granddaughter if she said she was moving.
Rosalie took her hand, walking with her to the front door.
"Fifteen minutes, okay? It's hard, and I'm really sorry, honey. We're doing this for you safety and for his." Rosalie kissed her forehead, where her eyebrows creased into a furrow.
"Okay." A tear slid down her face, despite trying to hold herself together. "I love you."
"I love you."
She turned swiftly, opening the door with urgency and then slamming it as she ran into the house. Only a few tears slipped; she didn't want to be too dramatic.
"Lexi?" Austin was panicked, running to pull his daughter into his arms.
She grabbed his forearms and held them, preventing him from holding her.
"Dad, I'm gonna go to Phoenix with Bella for a bit. And. . then I might go visit mom," she winced as she finished the sentence,
"What?! Why? What happened? Are you okay?"
"Dad, Bella and Edward broke up and it was this big fight. Me and Rosalie are fine, but Bella really needs my help right now. She begged me to come with her, just for a few days. But she's moving back there."
"Oh, Charlie'll be devastated. ." He looked down, sadness on his face at the thought. "Elexia, I don't know if I can let you go do all of that."
Elexia sighed, getting a little more aggressive; although it pained her to do so. "I'm old enough to do things on my own, Dad. I'm going to have my own kid in three months. You can't control me as much now. I'm not your little baby anymore. Besides, I miss mom. What if I don't get to see her again before I have this baby?"
Austin winced at the tone of her voice. "I understand, Lex."
"Thank you."
"I'll miss you." A tear slid down his cheek now. "Promise me you'll come back."
She had to lie. She couldn't promise him that for real, incase something happened. "I promise."
"Okay."
Elexia let go of his arms quickly and rushed up the stairs, doing as Edward had said; grabbing whatever her hands land on.
She rushed down the stairs, shooting her father one last small smile. "I'll see you soon, Dad."
Austin sighed, still in shock from everything that just happened.
"I love you, Lex." He hugged her. "Call me every morning and every night. And be safe."
Elexia nodded. "I love you, too, Dad. I really do."
She ran outside quickly, not sure how long she'd spent inside. Rosalie was in the driver's seat of Elexia's car already. The second Elexia was in, she rushed to Bella's house and got there in less than two minutes, seeing as it was close and Rosalie was driving faster than the speed of light.
"The tracker heard your end of the performance," they heard Edward tell Bella before they got in her beat-down truck and began speeding down the road, to which Rosalie began following immediately.
"Alice is behind us." Rosalie told Elexia, who nodded.
"Are we going to be able to outrun the tracker?"
