The World That Never Was: The Final Battle

Maya's P.O.V

As we reached the next floor to meet up with Mickey and Ansem the Wise of course we had to run into that bastard Siax.

" Only you could have made it this far in once piece... Roxas, Maxay." Siax turned to us. I glared at him. When is he gonna lay off my Nobody?

" That's really getting old!" Sora shouted getting frustrated.

Donald and Goofy got in front of us. " Yeah! He's Sora! And she's Maya!" The duck yelled offendedly. Aw our cute bodyguards.

We got into our stance when Siax picked up his weapon. " Different names, same fates." He had sent a powerful gust of wind at us. Riku quickly went over to shield Kairi and put a small barrier between us. So guess Sora and I have to fight Siax with Donald and Goofy.

Siax groans as he goes over to the moon weakly, once we defeated him. " Why... Kingdom Hearts... Where is my heart?" He reaches to the moon, fading away.

" I don't get it. Why's everybody been calling me Roxas?" Sora asked aggravated turning to Riku.

" Because, Sora. Roxas is your Nobody." Riku finally explained to him.

Sora was shocked. " My... Nobody? But that's crazy, I never turned into a Heart...." He stopped to remember the time he did. " Oh, right."

I frown. " It was when you came to save us, remember?" I mentioned before when Sora used the Keyblade to freed mine only leading me to my death. " And Maxay's my Nobody."

" Xemnas was the one who found Roxas and Maxay. They both could use the Keyblade because he's was you Nobody and Maxay's is Maya's. " Riku said. " That's why Xemnas brought them into the Organization--- But they betrayed them. After that I fought Roxas because I thought it would help wake you up. I lost. But the next time we met I made sure I was the stronger one." Riku explained everything and how he got into his Ansem form.

" Maybe I didn't need to fight after all. I think he left the Organization because... he really wanted to meet you." Riku said.

" Roxas... I wish I could meet him, too." Sora mutters.

Riku chuckles as he points to Sora's chest. Sora placed his hand over it. Meaning that Roxas is inside him now.

" All right. Let's go." Riku said as the others followed him.

I stayed back a bit. I placed my had over my own heart. Maxay.... you--- you didn't deserve any of that. It's my fault that you and Roxas are suffering.

The beam that was pointing to Kingdom Hearts started to glitch.

" Ansem?" Mickey asked wondering what's going on with the machine.

Ansem only laughs. " I'm a fool. I've spent years studying the workings of the heart. Yet it seems I still haven't learned a thing!"

" What d'ya mean?" Mickey worriedly asked.

" The process of encoding hearts is incalculable. The inhabitants of my Twilight Town were data created from real hearts. I was convinced that they would think and behave the way I had envisioned--- but I couldn't have been more wrong. A heart is so much more than any system. I saw it when Roxas and Maya crossed paths. I knew. But I was too stubborn to accept it. It's always the same. I tried to wrap my mind around things my heart already knows, only to fail. While I was trying to bring Sora back, I had so many plans in store. But once Sora was an acting force, they fell apart. All my research amounted to nothing, compared with that one boy's heart. "

" Ansem! The machine!" Mickey worriedly warns him.

" All the more proof that hearts cannot be contained by data. Run, my friend! it's going to self-destruct, and anything could happen!" Ansem told Mickey he didn't want him to be caught in the cross fire.
