Alper watched Halide's car drive out of the parking lot. He had yet insisted heavily on bringing her back home, not at all reassured by the idea of letting her drive in this state, although he had managed to calm her down a little. She had won out in the end, as always, but had promised to send him a message as soon as she arrived to reassure him.

As he strode towards the building, worried about the state he would find his friend in, he couldn't help but send a message to Derya: "I guess you know Halide was having dinner at Serhat's this evening... She just left and she wasn't fine so maybe you should call her or something."

.

Derya's evening had been so boring. Endlessly boring. Still, it was a weeknight like any other, she didn't usually go out partying on Monday nights, so this night was no more boring than any other one. This was surely due to the fact that she was literally dying of curiosity. She knew that Halide was spending the evening with Serhat, and she had promised to send her a message when she got home to keep her informed. Well, she knew her cousin, so she knew that she would know a minimum, then that she would have to wait to see her in the flesh to insist and find out more. But that didn't dampen her impatience or curiosity, and it didn't prevent her from checking her cell phone frequently in await of that message.

So when it beeped to announce the arrival of one, she threw herself on it, almost making her remote control fly while doing so. She frowned in confusion when she saw Alper's name appear on her screen. It had been a while since he had texted her. In fact, since the last time she had refused a date with him, he hadn't sent one. And, seeing his name displayed, feeling that little pinch in her stomach, she had to admit that she had missed it... She missed texting him, waiting for his, talking with him for hours, sometimes a good part of the night... She missed him.

It was her fault, she knew it. They had grew real close. No, she had let him get way too close knowing she could never give him more. But she had simply convinced herself that he wanted nothing more than to be her friend and that the crush he always had for her was ancient history. Looking back, she knew she was lying to herself. Just as she knew, that at some point, there had been more between them and that she was lying to herself about that too.

That was why she had refused this date with him and that not very elegantly. They had gone out before, as friends ! But this was different, he had clearly announced his intentions, that this outing was not one but a date. And she panicked. She had realized how ambiguous their relationship had become, how insidiously he had crept into her life and even into her heart, if she was being honest. So, at that moment, Burak popped into her mind and she panicked way more. She had also felt guilty, as if despite his many rejections, his indifference, his humiliations, she really owed him something, that she had betrayed him. And, of course, she had felt the need to push Alper as far away from her as possible and, yes, she had to admit, she had been tough.

With a mixture of nervousness, curiosity and even relief, she opened the message. All this quickly turned into concern, she quickly replied: "On my way, thanks, I'll let you know".

The next second, Derya jumped out of her bed and precipitated herself out of the house. When she knocked on the door of the Gürkan house about fifteen minutes later, Ayse came to open it and stared at her with surprise. Derya quickly greeted her before quickly passing by her, saying that she had to see Halide. Ayse watched her rush in the stairs with a smirk.

.

Why was Halide crying ? She had no idea. She felt so lost, so... helpless. After Alper left her car, she had returned home almost on autopilot, she didn't even know how she did to not had an accident. He was right after all, she shouldn't have driven. When she came back to her room, she made the mistake of opening the box. The famous souvenir box, as she called it. The one under the floor of her closet. It contained all the things that were extremely important to her but also the things that she didn't want anyone to see. Such as memories related to Serhat but also to her mother, her brothers and, concerning the things she didn't want anyone to see, a file on the murder of her family.
