"One more time? Please it's so cool!" Gar pouted at Verena like a child, eyebrows furrowing as well to add on to the childish behavior. Verena had been showing him her powers for at least five minutes now. His favorite one was her astral projection and sound sculpting. It was so pleasing to the eyes and ears, the way the her spirt was separated from her physical body and how the sound of music had came even though no radio was present. "Gar, you said 'one more' five one's ago!" rena huffed at him in annoyance.
"But you didn't say no, did you?" Gar smirked to her, in which she only rolled her eyes because he was right. Gar only pouted his lips at her, making her huff at the way he was using his cuteness to charm her into it. "Fine," Gar had smiled happily when the words came out, "But only one more time!" She says to him strictly, like a mother. "Okay!" Gar nods.
She inhaled and exhaled before closing her eyes, focusing both of her powers combined into one. and that's when she felt it, like a spark bursting into flames and a nice flow inside your body. Gar watched in amazement as the sound of rain started to be heard and her soul separating from her body, he seen it a thousand times, but somewhere he still manages to be amazed every single time.
"Wow..." Verena had opened her eyes, the rain stopped and her consciousness was back. "Happy now?" she asked rhetorically, smiling at his beaming expression, "Yes—" Gar had started to say, quickly catching himself, rena chuckled at him, "Hey! That's not funny." Gar frowned softly at her and all she could was giggle.

Verena looked around hesitantly. Her and Gar were currently out on a little shopping spree for things that they needed or wanted. She was still a little unsure about her surroundings and who she talked to, after certain events. They were in a tiny shop that Gar would usually visit every once and awhile. And he wanted to show and get Verena out of the big mansion that they lived in.
Rena loved the idea of getting some fresh air, exploring new places and seeing stuff that fits her interests. "Hey, you ready to go?" Gar had came out behind her, making her jump a bit. "Gar! you cant just sneak up on me!" She hissed at him and he frowned, immediately apologizing for it, knowing that she was still scared of the people who were "looking" for her.
"Verena, you're safe. And you know you've always got me. They're not coming after you." He had placed his hand on her shoulder reassuringly, noticing that she relaxed a little bit. "You've got what you wanted?" he asked her, looking at the different things in her hands. One being purple old, shiny antiques and some being jewelry like white pearls. "Nice picks. Ready to check out?" She had smiled and then thought about it, "Gar, we don't even have enough money for this."
Verena had sighed, now thinking about how much this stuff will cost, even if the things that were the smallest price. "Well, that's because we're not paying." Gar had scratched the
back of his head and saw Rena's face turned shocked. "Gar..." her lips were in a thin line as Gar almost felt bad about the whole stealing thing. "Great idea." he was almost shocked at the words that came out her mouth, they both turned and smirked to each other. Both teens had came up with a plan, Verena , who had a vast array of magic, which her primary use was going to be hypnosis, and Gar was going to carefully sneak out with all their belongings and get as far away as possible, still waiting for Verena of course. Rena had walked up to the cashier who was currently not paying attention, playing on his phone. Stoner. She could tell by the paleness of his skin, red eyes and his chapped lips. She dinged the shiny gold bell that had caught the guy's attention, "What?" his breath had a horrible smell to it, making Verena gag a little in her mouth.
"Hey, the bathrooms leaking." she had pointed to the bathroom, which in fact, wasn't leaking, it was perfectly dry. He had scoffed and had gotten up towards the bathroom, watching his steps as he opened up the door and closed it to "fix" the problem. Rena had looked for gar, signaling him that the coast was clear and he could make a run for it. He had nodded and rushed out the store, without getting caught. Her eyes glanced over to the cameras in the top corners of the store, letting out a shallow sigh, she had focused them in her mind,
She had them in thought for a few seconds until she heard snaps and thuds coming from around her. Each camera had fell, tiny glass shards across the floor, wires hanging out. With her hypnosis still going, she had walked calmly out the store, putting back on her jacket and left to find gar.

Verena sat on her bed, biting her lips and looking around nervously in her room. It was happening again. The fear, the dreading anxiety of feeling that someone might be watching you. Or the flashbacks of the horrors of the place you grew up in. Verena closed her eyes for a brief moment and then opening them again. She would have thought by now that she would be used to the lab, and all the bad memories fading away.
But in fact, she wasn't.
Shuddering at the thoughts that filled her head, she had took some deep breathing treatments that the chief had taught her, getting a black rug from under her bed, she had placed it in the center and sat crossed legged. Verena had closed her eyes, breathing in and out. The girl had relaxed her body, releasing all tension that was pent up. She let out a deep sigh, the curtains were drawn to keep the light out, her door was locked from the inside, and tiny red, blue and purple partials floated across her room.
It's been like this ever since she escaped. Escaped from that horrible place. The chandlers outside started to sway slowly. Verena had started to calm down, her breathing had gotten at a more steady pace, she had a headache. She shook off her sweaty hands and fixed her hair. It was silent after a couple of seconds, she only sighed as she went to grab a book and plopped on her comfy bed with a poof. She absolutely loved reading or drawing, it was something that she would do in her free time.
She tucked a piece of hair behind her ear, annoyed at the fact that it would get the way of certain things. "I need to cut this." she says to herself, singing as she flips the pages of the book she was reading. a rhythmic knock had came from outside her door. Verena was a little Bit hesitant to let people in after a panic attack but mumbled a, "Come in." Gar had came in quietly, seeing verena laying down on her bed. "I was wondering if you wanted to get out today?" he sat on the edge of her bed, she raised an eyebrow, "Too where?"
Placing her book down and now full attention on him, he only smirked in response, "That's a surprise." Verena could only roll her eyes in amusement as she agreed, grabbing a jacket as there was still snow on the ground.
[second chapter! I like Gar's and Verena's relationship so far, hopefully it can expand as the series goes on. Slow updates, trying to write like four books at the same time !]
