Verena often wondered what the rest of the titans were doing. Or how they were doing. None of them had called, texted or even visited. Verena still had hope that they would come back. But, she was beginning to be happier, she's been spending time with Gar and Conner. She also loves the new pet that they had, Krypto. Well, technically he was Conner's dog, but he was just too cute for Verena not to steal him sometimes.
Gar and Conner were out on a little run to get some things. She wandered the house as she waited for them to get back. She chewed on her sandwich, scrolling through her phone. Headphones in her ears, the music strumming through her head. Verena hums as she finished up, throwing her plate in the garbage as she sat down on the couch, throwing the blanket over her body.
She head felt Gar's presence, "Hey, Gar—" She removes her headphones, but he quickly ran past her, she noticed how Conner wasn't there. Or krypto. She had sighed, she went to find Gar. She had heard his heartbeat from where the former titans suits were. He was curled up in a ball, seemingly trying to calm down. "Oh, Gar! What happened?" She sat down in front of him, frowning as he does. "It was Conner. He saw someone was in trouble. And...and he attacked some cops." Gar had tears welling in his eyes, "Things got heated quick. And I ran. Just left him there." He stutters out.
"Gar, this isn't your fault. He's still learning. There's nothing much that you could do." Verena sits besides him, rubbing his back for comfort, "But Rena, I couldn't stopped him. Instead I just ran. We're supposed to be heroes. And heroes don't run." His voice falters a little bit, making Verena's heartbreak. "Listen Gar, even heroes run sometimes. They can't save everyone." Gar had looked at her with sadden eyes, "Yeah, but, I'm scared of what happened to Conner. He must be terrified right now." He says sadly, "Come on, let's go find him."

"Witnesses say that the young man was immune to police gunfire. San Fransisco PD has issued a $50,000 reward for information leading his arrest." The reporter stated on the news channel. Conner was in big trouble. They could possibly get arrested too, for even being associated with him. Gar closes the computer shut, "We need Dick. He knows what to do." Verena rolled his eyes, "I've tried to call him. His cell isn't answering." Gar replies to her.
"Fuck." Verena groaned out of anger. "Security alert, zone two, downstairs entry." The robotic voice had came through on the speakers, Gar had opened up the computer to the security cameras, but no one was there. "Hello?" Verena had said init the mic, a furry head pops up. It was Krypto, "Smart dog." She looks over to Gar who smiled in response. She went to go let the dog in and he barked. "You think he knows where Conner is?" Gar asked Verena who just smirked.
"Think? I know." She had smiled as they got some stuff to head out to find Conner. They had walked down the street a couple minutes later, and still no sign of Conner. Verena knew by memory what his vibrations sounded like. So she tried to look for that. "There he is!" Verena had said as Krypto ran over too him. "Great. Dumbest dog ever." Conner sighs at him, "He can ring a doorbell with his nose." Gar told him, "And he found his way all the way to the titans tower." Verena adds in to Gar.
Conner only had a stern look written on his features. "Stay away from me." He turned his heel and started to walk away, Verena and Gar followed him. "What you did to those cops, Conner..." Verena placed her hands in her pockets, "You messed things for a lot of people. Including me and Rena. I think we deserved and an answer. What the hell happened?" Gar probes him in a stern tone. "When you invited me to be a Titan, I told you what I was. But you you didn't listen cause that's not what you wanted to hear." Conner countered,
"You're right. I didn't listen." Gar stops in front of him, "Listen Conner, being a Titan means you can't be perfect," Verena prattled at him, now looking him in the eye, "I burned down a whole lab to the ground, I've killed hundreds of people. Gar killed a guy once. I've let them burn, made their brain explode out of their heads." She whispered towards him in a hushed tone. But Conner didn't seem impressed, having the same still expression.
"So, maybe we should all be locked up." He remarked and Verena rolled his eyes. "What we do...other people count on us to help them." Gar had stated, but Conner wasn't having any of it. "Well, they shouldn't." Krypto suddenly barks, they turned around to hear cars pulling up, they looked from government. Conner had went up to stop them, "Hey! You listen to me! Do you really want to hurt someone?" Verena pries at Conner, the people had came out with guns, all wearing defensive armor and Krypto kept barking.
"Let's go." They had started to run away, hoping that they couldn't be on their trails.

"Verena, you hear them?" Gar had asked the girl, "No, I cant hear them." She replies quickly as they had gotten to the Titans tower. Gar quickly unlocking it with a scan of his eyes. They had quickly got inside, "Shit. We need to stay low. We have to come up with a plan." Verena sighs as she ran her fingers through her brown hair. "You think?" Gar had retorted at her.
"Hey," Conner had spoke up, "You know they're gonna keep coming after me, right?" Gar had shrugged it off, getting three pops. "Let them try." He remarked, "We'll be fine. We have a tiger, witch, super dog and you." Verena adds in, taking a sip. "This is my mess, not yours." Conner asserts, clearly trying to leave them out of it. "This is what we do. We're family." The girl tells him truthfully, and she loved everyone that had came into her life.
Hell, she even loved Jason after what he's done. "We have each other's backs." Gar had smiled over at him and so did Verena. "So, where are they? The other Titans." Verena frowned at his words, "You know what, maybe I should do what Dick wanted me to do in the first place. Call in the big guns." Hat took out his phone, Conner raised his eyebrows, "We're gonna use guns?" . "No, not literally. It's a metaphor." Verena elaborated for him.
"Calling Bruce Wayne." He had typed some keys on his phone, "Zone six, unauthorized access." The automated voice had came through, "Zone is is the roof, who could—" Verena had whispered as people bursted through the windows, Verena covering herself with a shield as soldiers had busted through with guns. Krypto had barked loudly. Verena had licked her lips, inhaling before letting a out a alarming shriek at the soldiers. They all groaned in pain as she had knocked them down, rupturing their insides and paralyzing them.
Gar had knocked some of them out as Verena had casted a spell, sending some to other dimensions as hands grapple them from underneath. Their screams filled her ears, "Azun! Quick!" One of the soldiers had threw a grenade that was bright blue towards Verena. She coughed as it blew up around her, the smoke blocking her view as she felt a pain jolt through the back of neck. "Ahhh!" She yelled in pain as the smoke was hurting her and the tranquilizer filled with serum.
Her body shakes as the smokes clears out, she could barley see anything. She wheezed out in pain, she could hear Gar's heartbeat slowing down her's too. Her eyes fluttered slowly, seeing a tall woman standing in front of Connor. "All you have to do is come home." She said to him. Verena held her stomach in pain, her whole body was hurting, as she closed her eyes.
