This chapter pretty long, but for how long it's been since I updated it's needed.
Please enjoy and it was edited by my amazing friend, DieLeereDerDunkelheit.
***********
A frustrated growl echoes through the room as Zero slams his hands down on his bed.
Since he has a few hours of nothing to do till the guests arrive, he decided to try some more sigils.
He wants to grow stronger as a hunter and embrace every aspect of his family history.
Zero sighs, grabbing the book and re-reading the spell instructions for the sigil. Every other sigil he has done since he woke up has turned out perfect and he was able to get down very quickly. Then when he was going to stop, another sigil caught his eye and he just had to try it.
"What am I doing wrong?" He grumbles, putting the book back down on his pillow and starts the spell again.
He gets to the last part and creates a diamond shape with his fingers, purple vibrations fluttering across them. Grinning at the improved progress, Zero starts pulling them away slowly and turning the direction of his fingers.
"Okay, I just need to say the word." Zero mutters, dismissing the discomfort in his head and dryness in his throat. He carries on with the spell, the vibrations growing stronger.
"Véres"
The power in his hands expands, the shocks the only sound in the room before it all stops; leaving the room in silence and the light from the cracked window the only illumination.
Zero sits there in a stupor, staring at his hands. He flips them down to his thighs as his anger grows. A simple sigil like this shouldn't cause him so much trouble, yet here he was on his 5th failure.
Letting out an inhuman growl, Zero grabs his pillow and lets out a frustrated scream. He yanks the pillow from his mouth and tosses it somewhere in his room as he glares at the book.
"What am I doing wrong?!" He snarls, doing the spell again. He does it over and over, growling everytime the spell cancels out.
Zero shuts his eyes, his head throbbing in agonizing discomfort.
This is ten times worse than the headache he had got after his meeting with Kaien. A whimper of pain escapes his lips as the burning in his mouth and throat decides to join in.
Zero forces his eyes to open, peering down at the book. He has to try one more time. There is no way he can't be doing this easy spell right. Just one more time.
Lifting his hands up, Zero starts doing the spell, swallowing down cry trying to crawl up his throat. He gets to the last part and pushes all his energy into it, making the purple shocks bigger than last time.
He lets out a strained laugh, turning his hands sideways, and instead of pulling them apart as the book says. He pushes them together, deciding to try a different approach to completing the spell.
Biggest mistake of his life.
As soon as his palms meet, a large purple blast escapes from his hands, throwing him back to the wall. He lays on the floor, letting out a choked gasp as he feels blood welling up in his throat.
A burning fire ignites in his throat as he moves to his side to try and sit up. His body stays on the ground, not responding to his commands. One of his hands coming up to his throat, grabbing the burning agony spreading across.
