Chapter 11: Four Great Nobles

The group returns to the academy, as Lux, (Y/N), Krulcifer, Airi, and Lisha sit around in the lunge area. Krulcifer explains the situation to Lux, Airi, and Lisha.

"I see. So you set up (Y/N) as a boyfriend to avoid a political marriage," says Lisha.

"That puts me at ease," adds Airi.

"That butler...she was quite aggressive...or should I say unusual?" says Lux.

"Don't worry about it. Alterize has always been like that," replies Krulcifer.

"More importantly, will we be alright fighting a duel against those two?" questions (Y/N).

"I was just wondering about that. It's a bit troublesome. If you could use that Machine Dragon, there'd be no problem," replies Krulcifer.

"You got in a duel! How do you expect to win if you can only use the Wyvern!" Airi shouts at (Y/N).

"There's nothing to worry about. Lux was able to hold his own using Wyvern against my Tiamat. If (Y/N) has a higher aptitude level than Lux, he'll be fine," Lisha informs with a yawn.

"It'd be nice if it were that simple."

The group sit around, as Airi excused herself long ago and Lisha and Lux had fell asleep. Lisha and Lux's head leaned against each other, as (Y/N) and Krulcifer sat watching the two. The sun was slowly rising, as (Y/N) a smile formed on his face, before Krulcifer broke the silence.

"I've never seen you that angry. You don't get angry very easily, do you?" Krulcifer asks.

"Huh?" replies (Y/N).

Krulcifer looks towards the rising sun, before replying. "Normally, people would get angry about getting caught up in these kinds of matters. You're not even my boyfriend yet..."

"I would say I'm more stressed than angry." 

Krulcifer grows a small smile, thinking she was right, before (Y/N) quickly adds with a genuine smile, "But I'm the one who accepted, after all. I couldn't let that man insult my friends...But most importantly I can't let that man marry and corrupt someone as pure and innocent as you. If I can protect you guys, then I'm fine with being stressed." Krulcifer simply looks at the boy in shock, before Lisha wakes up.

"Ah...Damn...I fell asleep. I better return to my room. You guys should head back aswell," Lisha yawns. Lux's head falls to her lap, as Lisha quickly blushes.

"You okay there Lisha?" asks (Y/N).

"Yeah! Perfectly fine!" yells Lisha back, with a blush. 

Krulcifer and (Y/N) chuckle to Lisha's embarrassment, before (Y/N) picks up Lux and puts him on his back.

"Well it's been a long day, so we should try to get as much sleep as we can," (Y/N) suggests with a yawn of his own.

The two girls agree, but before (Y/N) leaves, Lisha replies with, "Just so you know, two days from now, we're doing the investigation of the sixth ruin, 'Garden.' We're meeting up for that tomorrow. And as for the duel...try not to push yourself too hard."

"Right, I'll be heading out now. Goodnight Lisha. Goodnight Krulcifer," says the boy, before making his way out with Lux on his back.

The two girls responds with Goodnight, but unknown to the others, Krulcifer held her hands together nervously.

*With (Y/N)*

(Y/N) lays Lux down on his bed, before putting the sheet covers over him. (Y/N) falls back into his chair, before letting out a sigh and closing his eyes.
