-This is set after Sharon and Randy (literally) just divorced-

Randy: So, I guess i'll see you Friday when I pick up the kids?

Sharon: Oh, yeah... See ya.

-Sharon walks away and gets into her car while Randy stands there watching her drive away-

-Sharon is driving back home, holding back tears. *Finally, free again... But will it be better?* She thought to herself.. she arrives home-

-Sharon opens the door to the house, Shelley is on the couch waiting for her-

Shelley: So did you do it? Are you and dad officially divorced?

Sharon: Yeah, we're divorced... I'll be in my room if you need anything, hon. Love you.

-Sharon walks up the stairs to her bedroom, still holding back the tears like in the car. She lays down on her bed to look at the ceiling-

Sharon: *So, were divorced... again. I'm glad, but... Even though we're away from there, will the kids be mad at me for letting him keep us there like that? I know I can't control Randy, but I still feel it's my responsibility... Oh god, am I a bad mother?*

-Sharon begins to cry but tries to keep it quiet so the kids won't here-

-Someone knocks on Sharon's bedroom door. Sharon quickly collects herself and wipes her tears away-

Sharon: Come in!

-Someone opens the door, it's Stan-

Stan: Hey mom, uh- is it ok if Kyle comes over?

Sharon: Yeah, that's alright, hon.

Stan: Cool coz, he's already here.

Sharon: Oh, well you two have fun then-

Stan: His mom is also here if you wanted to see her.

Sharon: Really? Sheila's here?

Stan: Yeah.. I'll go get her.

-Sheila comes up to Sharon's room-

Sheila: Sharon, it's me. Can I come in?

Sharon: Yeah, of course, come in.

-Sheila sits down next to Sharon on her bed and puts her hand on top of Sharon's-

Sheila: You ok?

Sharon: Y-yeah, why wouldn't I be ok?

Sheila: It's ok, you can tell me, I know going through a divorce must be hard.

-Sharon takes a breath and starts tearing up-

Sharon: I just don't know if I'm doing the right thing, Sheila! I know that Randy was a terrible father, and we're all glad to be off that farm. But I can't help feel that I let him keep us there for so long, and I'm not as bad as Randy but I still feel like an awful mother for not doing something about this sooner!

-At this point, Sharon is in tears-

Sheila: No, no, Sharon! It's ok, don't feel like a bad person because your husban- ex husband was. You did the best you could, and the point is that you're out of there now, right?

Sharon: *sniff* Yeah, I guess... I'm just worried we'll get back together again just like the last two times.. but I don't want that! The kids don't want that!

Sheila: I feel that this time will be different because this situation is different, but I guess we'll see.

-There was a pause for a minute-

Sheila: It's a bit soon to ask now, but if he wanted you back, would you go back..?

Sharon: I- I'm not sure... At this point, I don't feel that I still love him, so maybe you're right... It could be different this time.

Sheila: Exactly, and besides, there are other guys in the world that will treat you much better than Randy did.

Sharon: You're right! Thanks, Sheila.

-A few days go by, not a lot happens. Sharon goes over to Sheila's house for a visit-

-Sharon knocks on the door, Gerald opens it-

Gerald: Oh, hey Sharon. (Gerald didn't seem like he was in a good mood)

Sharon: Morning, Gerald. Is Sheila home?

-Gerald's eyes averted-

Gerald: Hm, bedroom...

Sharon: Uh, thanks...

-Sharon goes upstairs to the bedroom and opens the door-

Sharon: Sheila? It's me.

Sheila: Oh, Sharon! I wasn't expecting you..

-Sharon could tell Sheila wasn't in a good mood either-

Sharon: Are you ok? Gerald seemed like he was in a bad mood, and so do you..

Sheila: It's... it's nothing, don't worry!

Sharon: Sheila, I can tell something's up. If you and Gerald are having problems, you can always talk to me about it. Trust me, I know what it's like

-Sheila doesn't say anything for a minute, just looking down at her lap-

Sheila: He- he's just been so distant lately, so I asked him why, but... He didn't wanna talk about it. Then I brought it up again, and he snapped at me! He told me that I'm annoying and that I'm just not attractive anymore and that he thinks we should get a divorce...

-Sharon could tell that Sheila was about to cry. She wraps her arm around her shoulder-

Sharon: Oh, Sheila... I'm sorry.

-Sheila starts to cry, Sharon puts her other arm around Sheila to hug her-

Sharon: But you had such a good relationship... What happened?

Sheila: To be honest with you, it hasn't been the best these past few months. We've fought quite a bit about the stupidest things. But I never thought anything of it, so now I'm thinking that a divorce might be the better option.

Sharon: Well, just know that I'll be here for you whenever you need. It'll be ok.

Sheila: Thankyou Sharon, thankyou.
