"Madhav" She sighed in relief seeing him.
"Krishnaa" He spoke unknowingly.
"Thank you for saving me." She spoke, not paying attention to his words.
Krishna's eyes softened, "It's my duty Sakhi." He replied, "And besides you stabbed him well, even I wasn't here, you would have managed him well."
Shubhangini smiled warmly, "I doubt so." She replied back.
"He was stabbed below heart," Krishna pointed out at the dead body, "His main veins were broken meaning blood loss at rapid rate. He would have died in few minutes."
Shubhangini looked at body and realized he was right, she smiled in relief, she was capable of safe guarding herself in the absence of Pandavas.
"Wait-" Shubhangini's smiled disappeared in a worrying face, "Where are the Pandavas, Madhav can you please go look for them?" She asked him with pleading eyes.
Krishna chuckled in a humourous way, "Do you think Pandavas would be in trouble? I doubt so, there is no force in the fourteen worlds that can stop them."
His way of speaking was soothing, it calmed Shubhangini.
"Also, who is he?" Krishna asked innocently, to which she shrugged, "No idea, he was disguised as an old wounded man, so I let him in."
Krishna made a thinking face, "Hmmmm, let's look for any hints?"
He looked at the man's dress and sighed, "You know this dagger has a symbol of a royal family." He spoke with seriousness.
"Who's?" Shubhangini asked with curiosity.
"The royal family of Ang, the kingdom of Raja Karna." Krishna said, looking calm.
Shubhangini was confused, "Why did he send someone to attack us? We have no enemity with him."
"I think the assassin was here for a long time, and came here the moment Pandavas left you alone." Krishna started, "You are sole strength of Pandavas, without you, the five will break and would be reduced to nothing."
Shubhangini was disturbed by the thought that someone would stoop so low so as to kill a child to weaken their enemy? This wasn't ethical.
But how could she expect ethical things from someone like him?
"Sakhi, I have other works to do, allow me to leave." Krishna spoke.
"But? At least wait for the Pandavas to come?" She spoke with a cute pout.
Krishna poked her nose cutely, "Then I will be late. You know Dau is waiting for me, besides, I am going to Hastinapur to meet my Bua and the mother of Pandavas." Krishna spoke with a smile.
Shubhangini ran inside the hut and bought a small basket, "Can you give this and my greetings to Rajmata?" She asked.
"Of course," He replied and started walking out.
Shubhangini had packed a set of laddos Bheem and she had prepared to celebrate the success of Pandavas.
Krishna smiled in content, in these years, if anyone was worried most about Draupadi, it was Kunti. She didn't doubt her sons to protect her, but as a woman, she wondered how Draupadi would be fighting internally with herself every day.
He was sure that Kunti would recognize the taste and would be content knowing that Draupadi was doing fine.
Subhangini sat down keeping an eye on the door. She wondered why people would be attacking her? Yudhisthir was Supreme Emperor of Aryavart, and how could someone possibly attack the Emperor's family?
