Part 6

~In the kitchen

After I finished off the tea that's when Fey burst into the kitchen.

"Tigris- Maze- important- have to tell you- can't forget Alby- pattern-" Fey said, barely breathing. She was speaking too quickly, and couldn't get enough oxygen.

"Whoa, slow down kid. Start from the beginning and talk slower," I told her calmly.

She groaned, grabbed my wrist, and dragged me over to the lookout tower. We passed Minho running towards the garden. When he saw us, he groaned, stopped, turned around wearily, and started following us again. I sensed her excitement and knowing where she wanted to go, I tightened my grip, spread my wings, and in one big sweep, flew us to the top of the tower. We landed- well, I landed and she fell on her butt. Once Alby was there she told both Alby and I what her and Minho had discovered. Once she was done, me and Alby traded glances.

Alby said, "So you haven't found a way out?"

"Well, no but-" she started, but I cut her off, starting to remember what happened to my little brother Newt.

"Don't tell anyone about there not being an exit. We don't need anyone losing hope and committing suicide," A dark shadow crossed over my face but passed quickly. She looked into my eyes and saw the reflection of the memory. I knew she had cautiously entered the memory.

*Flashback*

"Tigris, Tigris! It's Newt! He's gone," Minho said. "Show me where he is," I ordered. After running for a good fifteen minutes searching for Newt in the maze. We saw Newt hanging from a vine by his leg. "Can you get him down?" Minho asked. "Yes, I can. looks like his leg is destroyed though. I can't fix that," I replied. I concentrate on the vines that entangled Newt. They brought him down safely and untangled themselves from Newt. "Min-min take Newt. I'll meet you back at the glade. After I find out how Newt entangled himself. Tell Alby what happened. I'll be back in an hour if I haven't found anything," I said.

~An hour later

I went to check on Newt. "Hey, Newt. Just coming to see if everything is okay." I said. "Do I look okay Tigris?" He yelled. Taken back by this I started to cry knowing he's hurt. So I ran out to the watchtower. 'You didn't do anything wrong, he's in a lot of pain right now.' I tried to comfort myself but it didn't work all too well.

*End of Flashback*

Her face was strangely composed like she hadn't entered my mind, but I didn't tell her that I knew what she had done. We all descended the tower after the conversation. Everything else was normal for the rest of the day. The next few months passed by without any problem. Every month we'd get a new greenie, Gally would fight them on bonfire night, assign them a job, and wait for another month for the next greenie.

~The next day

"What's that?" Minho asked, pointing to the beads in Fey's hair.

"Oh this? I don't quite know, it's just there. The beads add themselves." Fey replied.

"That's cool," said Gally.

"Oh, Newt, Gally?" She asked. All three boys turned to Fey.

"This is really important, and I want you to know it before I head out today," they were hanging on to every word she said.

"One of you is my crush, and the other is like my brother," Fey said. The doors opened as soon as she finished, so they didn't have time to bombard her with questions. Before she ran into the Maze with Minho and Daniel.

Gally and Newt started to fight about who was the crush and who was the brother.

"You're definitely like her brother, I'm her crush," Gally told Newt.
