I miss him

Natasha's POV

It's been one long year and Alex still hasn't came back nor have we heard from him. And I also haven't heard from Griffin, so I'm hoping that that's not the reason Alex is gone. Around the compound is not the same and it seems empty, the only people that are healed or seem fine are Bruce, Tony, and Steve. Broody and Tom are getting better and hope that Alex comes back soon. As for Alexis... she's  having it not so good, she's been staying in Alex's room with Tom and only comes out for food and water. Speaking of food and water we are starting to realize that Alex was the one getting it, and now sometimes we are stuck eating cereal or pizza for Dinner.

I'm a mental mess, my mind keeps telling me he's never coming back and I should have told him how I felt in the beginning instead of being a prick, but my heart on the other hand is saying, he will come back he wouldn't leave Tom and Broody like that if he truly cares for them. I just want the man that's making me fall for him back.

"Hey nat, you in there" Bucky said knocking on my room door,

"Yeah, come in the door should be unlocked," I say and he opens the door and walks in

"Wanda's with the boys and the rest are on missions," he tells me and I just nod

"I know I'm not one of the people you talk to but, how you holding up?" He asked genuinely with a sad smile sitting down next to me on my bed

"I don't know I just miss him" I tell him honestly as I hold back tears

"Yeah, we all miss him, but from what I can tell, he may be cold in the beginning but he would never leave his family without a reason" he tells me and I smile sadly,

"I know.... He would do anything to protect his family and their loved ones"

Alex's POV

"Rise and shine! Wake up and be in the yard in 20 minutes!" I yelled walking into the soldiers bunker waking the up at 4:00am. I'm all dressed and ready to start my day. This year has been as good as it gets in the army, some bullet wounds here and there from protecting my new second family, I have gotten close to these guys and gals and after one mission I was promoted commander and chief; Long story; I accepted it only because I got to stay with my 'group' and now I'm their boss- no I'm their leader and as their leader I will protect them without a second thought, one time I got shot in my chest and it stopped just before it could hit my heart.

I tend to not use my healing unless it a fatal wound, because I want to survive and make it back to Tom Natasha and Broody of course. I wonder how they're doing, and Alexis, I know she's gonna hate me for leaving but I had no other choice. I miss the team. I hope they understand why I had to do this; If I end up telling them.

"Alright, today is gonna be an easy day just some more training for all of you, and some activities for teamwork" I say to all the soldiers walking up and down the line of them

"Now go get breakfast and meet back here in 45" I tell them because I want them to have energy and because I'm that nice, they all say 'yes sir' and leave, well expect for Mindy

"Hey Commander-

"I told you to call me Tom when we aren't doing anything" I say cutting her off with a smile

"Right sorry, Tom not to be nosy but in the past year you haven't left on vacation or gotten a letter from family... do you have family?" She asked and I frown a bit

"Yeas I do, it's complicated and to tell you the truth they don't know I'm here right now. I actually have a son and next mouth her turns 8" I tell her and she frowns

"I'm sorry for asking just wanted to know" she says truthfully looking down

"Let's get some breakfast, today might be easy but it sure as hell will be long" I say with a laugh and we walk to the cafeteria, if you can call it that...

"Mindy! Tom! Over here" my close friend Nathen says waving us down and we join him at the table he was seated at

"What's up Nathan?" I asked once I sat down next to him and Mindy sat next to me

"You know same old same old, the baby's doing good" he said with a smile. Nathens wife just had their first son and he can't wait to go see him.

"That's good" I said returning the smile, and for the next 30 minutes or so we all chat and eat our food, ready for the day to start.

Alexis' POV

I'm in Alex's room laying down watching Cars with Tom. I'm not paying attention at all because the only thing on my mind is Alex. That whore better come back, he has Tom Broody annndd Natasha; and the team and I, except for Bruce; worried sick about him, it's been a year and it's like he just disappeared-

"Hey we're having movie night tonight with everyone" Wanda said knocking on the door braking me out of my thoughts

"Yeah! We will be there" Tom say before I can respond, now I have to go.

"Alright last one down has to make dinner" She said from the other side of the door, then I heard footsteps walk away,

"What time is it?" I asked Tom and he looked at Alex's alarm clock

"Uhh, it's 6:53" he answered and I shook my head

"We should head down if we don't wanna make dinner" I say and stand up

"Let's go!" Tom cheered then jumped on my back making me stumble a little

"Kid I'm too old for this" I whine, remembering myself of Alex, that is something he would say.

"So!? We gotta go!" He yelled and I shook my head and ran out the room and into the living room, dodging Natasha and Bruce on the way. The two seem to be getting close...

"Made it! And we're not the last ones" I yell swinging my hands up in celebration

"Oh Tony ordered pizza so no one has to cook" Wanda said from her seat on the couch with a smirk

"You sly witch" I say narrowing my eyes at her crossing my arms

"Yeah! That wasn't cool!" Tom said defending me making me smile, like really smile for the first time since Alex left.

"Oh whatever" Wanda said playfully waving it off, that's when Tom jumps off my back and walks up to Wanda and pulls her down by her shirt so they're face to face

"You have to apologize for tricking Auntie Alexis, right now." He demanded and I froze, seeing a little version of Alex; he's just like his dad.

"Alright, I will apologize" Wanda said with a gulp as she put her hands up in surrender and Tom let her go, and I snapped back to reality

"I'm waiting..." I tell her as I tap my foot on the floor

"I'm sorry for... tricking you" She said quietly, but I heard her and I act like I didn't and lean forward

"I'm sorry I didn't get that can you say it again" I ask with a smirk and she narrows her eyes

"Go on, she didn't hear you" Tom says crossing his little arms

"Im sorry I tricked you!" Wanda slightly yelled and you nod,

"Oh it's no big deal" I say and wave it off, then the rest of the team walks in and we all sit down an watch Lion King 2. Of course Tom and Broody picked it, but if Alex were here he would have too.

I miss him.
