It's been one week since my birthday and 9 years since Dad 'left' or disappeared, as I'm told. But I do t believe any of that, I think Alex left because he didn't want to take care or love a child. I'm now 16 so I'm not some dumb little kid. I don't need anyone to take care of me anymore, the only reason the 'team' takes care of me is because of Alex, so they say.
Knock knock
"Yeah? What do you want?" I say and the door opens and Peter walks in with a box in his hands. He's the only one on the team I actually like and trust.
"I have something for you, your dad told me to give this when your 16" he tells me and I look at the ground,
"Just set it on the bed" I say and he doesn't respond so I look at him
"Look Tom I know how you-
"No. Peter you don't know how I feel! No one's does. The only person who really cares was you. Im just here because I have no where else to go-
"Tom you can live with Emma or me and aunt May, just let us know and we will come get you" He says with a sad smile
"Yeah, I'll think about it." I say and we sit in silence then he soon leaves after putting the box on my bed. This is so cliché, the dad leaves and once the son gets to a certain age someone gives them a box or envelope. But it's whatever. I grab the box and place it on my lap. Might as well open it.
I open the box and the first thing I see is a note. Of course there is. I pick up the note and start reading it,
To: Tom
Hey kid I'm so sorry I had to leave two days after we met but know that I will never never stop thinking about you and the rest of our true family. By the time you get this I will be back in most likely a year or less, if nothing happens to me. I want you to stay strong for me and not tell anyone about this letter. You can talk to Emma and Peter about it but no one else. Trust me kid I never wanted this but in the end I made a decision to protect everyone we love.
Love you kid, P.S. I have a box in my closet and it has two of my suits including a suit I made you in the little time I could, I want you to stay safe and look after Peter and Natasha. Remember if you want them all to stay safe you won't tell anyone about this.
I'm guessing this was the box in his closet. I put the note aside and look in the box. His mask... and like he said two of his suits and at the bottom of the box I see a necklace and lots of cash,

Is this some type of joke? What is this? My suit. I grab the necklace and put it on. It's kinda heavy. Next thing I know the necklace expands and starts covering my chest, I stand up and a suit covers my body,
"Hello Tom, I am your A.I., Ava" a women's voice says once the helmet wraps around my head, this is cool. Wait Ava? That was my mom's name, I knew I recognized the voice from somewhere. I go over to my body mirror and look at my appearance,

It's not to bad, now how do I get this thing off of me?
"Hey Ava, how do I get this suit off?" I asked
"Tap twice on the center of your chest" she tells me and I quickly thank her and tap twice on my chest and the suit 'folds' up back into the necklace.
I can't stay here. I just can't, why would I? The team doesn't even want to look at me, let alone talk to me. I'm in my room all day and only come out for food, school and to practice or workout/train... by myself. It is what it is, I'm over it though.
I start packing my important things, consisting of clothes, my dad's suits, and money, I put all my stuff in a backpack and wait for night to fall. This is the day when I finally get out of this place. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate what this family has done for me, but I don't feel like I belong here.
Later that night
I just got out the shower and got dressed, I put on some black sweatpants and sweatshirt. I grab my backpack and look around my room for probably the last time and my eyes linger on my dads mask on my bed. I grab the mask and leave.
I make my way outside after getting out the compound successfully. I'm gonna miss Alexis and Broody. Pretty much everyone except Natasha and Bruce, because from what I was told, Natasha's was 'in love' with my dad and not even a year after he leaves she moves on with Bruce! That asshole and excuse of a scientist, never cared about my father. Once I get my answers on why my dad left, I'm gonna get my 'revenge'. Time to make a phone call...
"Hello? Tom?" Emma says picking up the phone
"Hey Emma, can you meet me at dads bar, and bring his keys. Please and thank you" I say then hang up, then make my way to the bar.
At the bar I made it to the bar and head to my dads room and it's modern. He was smart with the way he designed it his place, it's nice. Now I just have to wait for Emma.
Knock knock
"Come in!" I say and Emma enters the room
"Hey what's up? What's going on?" She immediately asked
"I'm have one question, and I want you to answer it truthfully" I say ignoring her questions and she nods
"Why did my dad leave?" I say straight up
"Tom, that's a long story that and I don't know if I should tell you" she says sadly
"I get it I'm still young but I don't care just tell me why my dad left" I say sternly, Emma sighs and tells me everything, about the Griffin situation, and all the information I needed to know,
"Look kid, I hope now you understand why your father left" she says
"Ok thank you Emma, that's all I needed" I tell her with a thankful smile
"Take care Tom, I hope you don't stay in this club for long" Emma says then leaves. Natasha, the things my father did for you and this is how you repay him.
