3rd Person's POV
Quackity stormed into the funeral, hoping that he wasn't too late. He wanted to say his goodbye. He needed closure and was shocked when he only saw one casket.
Everybody was staring at him, but he didn't care. He needed to know if George was alive. All it took was one glance at the front row to get his answer. The row that wasn't empty and the casket that had the photo of George in a cap and gown for his senior picture smiling proudly to get his answer.
"Jorge?" Quackity whispers with tears streaming down his face. He was in his usual suit, but he had a baby blue tie on. He had Schlatt's men gain some intel and heard there was a funeral. They didn't know for who since they didn't know what George or Wilbur looked like. All they said was that there was one casket.
As horrible as it was, Quackity hoped it was Wilbur's. That his little brother was still alive. He felt his heart sink when he saw his brother's ghost standing there looking at him with a huge smile, it was his Jorge when he 5 and Quackity took him off the streets of Brighton.
Quackity was about to walk over to him when some blonde haired kid got up from the first row and started walking to him.
"Why the fuck are you here?!" The boy yelled with his fist clenched at his side looking awfully hostile.
"Can I not pay my respects to my baby brother?" Quackity spat out frustrated at the disrespect he was given at his brother's funeral. The crowd around them had gasped in shock.
"I guess George never mentioned me." Quackity mumbled loudly fuming with anger at the way he was being treated.
"George doesn't have any living family. Not that I know of." The fire kid had got up and stood next to the blonde.
"Dream, this is Ge-" He got cut off by Quackity talking.
"George Davidson Quackity is my little brother. I'm the reason we were both in the States." Quackity said looking up at the kid named Dream who was shocked.
George hated his middle and last name. The only people who knew his middle name were Puffy, Sapnap, and Dream. He never talked about his real last name or why he was in the states. Now around 20 people knew. George always went by Puffy's last name when he introduced himself and signed papers.
Dream stepped aside and let Quackity pass. He wouldn't have if knew Quackity could have saved George. That he was there before George's legs were crushed. If he didn't pass out in the vents George and Wilbur would be at the beach house and unharmed.
To Dream's knowledge Quackity had nothing to do with George's death. Everybody thought that he and Schlatt had left before anything happened. They didn't know that Quackity trained Tubbo. They didn't know that Quackity tried to take George away.
Only one person knew. Sapnap fought Quackity and won. He heard Quackity refer to George as his brother. While Dream stood to the side, Sapnap held his ground and looked Quackity dead in the eyes. Sapnap knew what they had done to Tubbo, and Sapnap knew while looking into Quackity's eyes who had beaten up George.
It wasn't a coincidence that Quackity was there. He was trying to take George and Wilbur. George had been significant to Quackity. George had talked to Quackity and refused to join his side. The attack was an attempt to force George onto the wrong side. The only person who had been with George was Wilbur.
Quackity knew where George was. Sapnap saw him jump out of the vent. Wilbur had betrayed Philza. That is how Quackity knew where George was. Wilbur had been slipping intel to Schlatt and Quackity.
Sapnap had been standing there with a fire growing in his heart the longer he thought about it. He could feel himself losing control of his power. But he didn't care. He could avenge George.
George's death stood for nothing, but Sapnap could make Quackity's mean something.
Sapnap knew he was on fire. He knew the ghost of George was terrified of him at the moment, but he didn't care. He had the cards laid out in front of him and now all he had to do was to play them.
Quackity was backing away from Sapnap now. Confused and looking around for support. For someone to calm down the child who was in the right.
Sapnap was about to pounce on Quackity when he heard a familiar voice ring through his mind. I don't know what you are thinking Sap, but whatever it is, it isn't what George would want. Whatever you are about to do, don't. You can do it later, not now and we can talk when we go home. Sapnap heard Dream's voice ring in his mind.
Sapnap extinguished himself and turned to Dream. He had a disappointed and confused look on his face. Quackity was trembling, Sapnap could see the burn scars on his hands and face and realized why.
Sapnap stepped aside, over to Dream and buried his face in shame. He was making a scene at a funeral. At his brother's funeral. George's ghost floated over to Quackity and hugged him.
The ravenette was shocked and had his mouth agape before returning the hug and laying his head on the younger George's.
"Lamento mucho que esto haya sucedido. Si pudiera volver atrás en el tiempo, lo cambiaría todo. Viviríamos en las calles hasta que consiguiera un trabajo y luego conseguiríamos un piso de mierda hasta que me abriera camino. Serías tratado como un rey a los catorce años. Si hay otros universos, espero que obtengas lo que mereces en cada uno de ellos. Te amo George, y te veré pronto." Quackity said to George in between in his sobs.
(I'm so sorry that this has happened. If I could go back in time, I would change it all. We would live on the streets until I got a job and then we would get a shitty flat until I worked my way up. You would be treated like a king at fourteen. If there are other realities, I hope you get what you deserve in every single one of them. I love you George, and I will see you soon )
He held George as long he could until George started to squirm around. George pulled away and with a huge smile on his face and replied. Not seeming to understand what was going on.
"Te perdono. Lamento haberte dejado en el orfanato. Espero que nos volvamos a encontrar en otra vida, hermano mayor." Quackity ruffled George's hair and smiled. A sad smile. He didn't want to say goodbye, because this one was forever, but he had no choice.
(I forgive you. I'm sorry I left you at the orphanage. I hope we meet again in another life, big brother.)
Quackity kissed his forehead and with a gust of wind George was gone. His laugh fading into the wind as his spirit disappeared. His spirit was put to rest. George's unfinished work in the human realm was an apology. That was what he wanted and he got it.
Quackity turned around and left not wanting anyone to see the almighty vice president in tears.
Sapnap and Dream were shocked. They didn't know George had any living family or was fluent in Spanish. George's unfinished work had nothing to do with them. George was happy where he left off with them.
It still hurts to see the person who raised George be the same person who indirectly led George to his death. The next events happened in a flash.
The coffin was lowered to the ground and everybody left. Phil was hesitant with dropping everybody off. He had seen how much more grief a person goes through after a funeral.
It restarts the grieving process. He had a sickening feeling in his stomach that something bad was going to happen and decided to keep them all at his house for a bit just to be safe. He knew being around people would help all the kids.
It was also quite late and he didn't want Karl and Foolish sleeping in that shady apartment to ease the feeling in his stomach.
The kids were all confused when he went straight to his house, but all got out and helped him set up his living room. It felt like a big sleepover to them and helped raise their spirits.
Phil felt like he had done something good.
