The handsome stranger and woman enter a dimly lit room where two figures stood patiently waiting. The figures could be seen as a tall man and petite woman. The man seemed to have a mask similar to a happy clown mask and the woman wore a hood. This seemed to give off weird cult vibes to the elder devil hunter.

“Well, I didn’t expect to be brought into a circus. If he’s a head clown, are you and the other chick pretty assistants?” The elder man laughed.

“I’m more of an acrobat. I can demonstrate some acrobatics privately,if you like.” The armed woman replies, winking at the man.

“Didn’t take you to be such a flirt, Alessa. I see our guest here has brought out your inner devil.” The man with the mask says.

“He’s pretty handsome for an older gentleman. I can’t help it.”

“Well you can’t expect him to like you if you are pointing your weapon at him. Please stand down, Alessa. We are not trying to make him feel like he is hostile.”

Alessa lowers her weapon as the man asks. The man then removes his mask revealing his true face. The elder devil hunter is shocked by the similarity the man has to his older twin.

“This is going to sound bad but the fact that you look like the younger version of my older twin is pretty fucking scary.”

“Well if your twin, has a demon father who was banished by a demon lord Mundus and an angel mother who was murdered also by Mundus, I can understand.”

“Mundus? I haven’t heard that name in ages. My brother and I  killed him 20 years ago.”

Confusion now sets in Alessa, the unmasked man, and the hooded woman's face. How could a mere stranger know that name? How could it be possible for him and his brother to kill the demon they battled 5 years ago 15 years prior? Something was obviously amiss.

“We battled Mundus 5 Years ago and won. The only thing that went bad was my brother betraying us.” The unmasked man replies, clearly confused.

The elder hunter began to put two and two together, It then began hitting him like a freight train. He looks again at the young man and begins to panic, “Wait a minute, does your name happen to be Vergil?”

It was the younger man’s turn to be confused “Yes, and is your brother’s name Vergil?”

“Yeah, that’s my twin. He is the oldest of the two of us.”

“Then that means you are Dante”

Alessa immediately storms out of the room, leaving Dante clearly confused. Vergil sighs and rans a gloved hand through his hair, “I’m sorry, the name Dante really triggers her.”

“Will she be okay?”

Vergil is shocked to hear genuine concern from the older version of his twin brother.  His twin is very cold hearted and selfish. He didn’t care about anyone but himself, which in turn hurt Alessa in every way possible.

“Just give her some time. She has been through enough and I ask that you let her be. She is very dear to me and the only thing I have close to an actual sister.  She will come to you when she is ready or she might not. For now, let us figure out what is going on.”

“I think I already figured it out. If you are the one, who decided to help humanity then it was your brother, Dante who betrayed you. So all this is because he wanted power and to rule everything.”

“You sound like you know from experience.”

“Yeah, I spent 20 years fighting with my brother over this. It took me and his son to snap him out of it.”

“20 years?”

Dante ran his hand through his silvery locks, “Yup and let me tell you it wasn’t easy. The main thing is that he, my nephew, and I finally got to be a family. That’s why I was in a rush to get out of here. We got separated and I want to be sure they are okay.”

Vergil began to go into deep turmoil hearing this. This Dante spent 20 years fighting his own brother. Could this be the same case for him and his brother too?  So many thoughts and visions were coming at him from every chamber of his mind. Despair was filling him and tears began to come from his eyes.

Dante immediately felt bad for this Vergil. In one sense, this was like looking at himself 20 years ago when he thought he killed his own brother. The pain was unimaginable and he wouldn’t wish it on anyone. He knew he couldn’t leave this Vergil like this.

He puts a reassuring hand on Vergil’s shoulder and gives a firm squeeze. Vergil looks up in desperation then quickly gets himself together, “I apologize,  I didn’t mean to let my emotions take over like that”

“It’s okay, I was in your shoes too once”

“If you need to, I can show you the way out of here-”

Dante stops him mid sentence, “Actually, you look like you can use an extra hand. I can stay back and help. I may not have the smarts like you but if you need me to kill some demons, I’m your guy. Plus,  Alessa, may not be in the right mind to fight right now.”

“ I really appreciate your help, I didn’t expect you to help willingly like this.”

“Don’t mention it, if I can help prevent two other sons of sparda from trying to kill each other for 20 years that is all that matters.”
