Hahaha... Um.. hello 😅😅 since I have no excuses, I'll just write and uhh...slap braincells into my brain.

(UNEDITED- PLEASE POINT ANY MISTAKES- )

Jin Zixuan looked at Wei WuXian, his eyes sending a silent message: 'help!'

The demonic cultivator swallowed, looking at Wen Rouhan dead in the eyes. " Because we had a vision of you hosting a competition at Nightless City and wanted to ask you if you would still host it, Sect Leader Wen."

Jin Zixuan was stupefied.

Xue Yang looked up curiously, his finger in his lower lip, his eyes wide.

"A vision?" Wen Rouhan leaned forward, his eyebrows raising. "The both of you?" He cupped his chin, thinking. "Did you share your large braincell by sleeping together or something?"

Wei WuXian choked on saliva while Jin Zixuan almost had a heart attack. Poor Xue Yang had to strain to keep the golden robed cultivator upright.

Wen Rouhan wheezed, slapping his knee. "Alright, I'm guessing I'm wrong then!"

Xue Yang, who had enough, slipped from under Jin ZiXuan, and scrambled up to stare down the red and white sect leader. "Scary red peacock-Gege! Candy!" He demanded, holding out both hands. "These creeps never gave me any!" He clung to Wen Rouhan's robes, large fake tears rolling down his face. "They only want to kidnap me!"

The Jin looked shell shocked. "That's- I mean.." he coughed, elbowing Wei WuXian who still hadn't gotten over the 'sleeping together' part. "A-Xian," he hissed, "should we take him back or just leave him there and stall?"

Wei WuXian shrugged, rubbing his nose. "Uhm, Sect Leader Wen?"

"What is it, Little Jiang?" Wen Rouhan said, pulling a random piece of candy from his sleeve and handed to an excited Xue Yang.

"W-why do you want an only child?"

"Oh? I'm not sure. I dislike my horrid and tantrum-throwing brat." He reclined, his cheek resting on his knuckle. " the other one... I have no opinion on him. He's like a puppet, wanting me to pull his strings. It's awful. Imagine this-" Wen Rouhan pointed at Xue Yang. "- This brat, but just imagine him coming over to you and begging you to tell him every single thing. Example: 'Oh father, what should I do now?'" He said this with an awfully good impression of a Wen Xu. "And that brat just shoved a whole fucking chicken down his throat, and he's wonder what do?! Also, mind you, he still had not chewed a single piece."

Xue Yang burst out laughing, almost falling over.

Wei WuXian was in awe at the stupidity at the Oldest son. "Ok, that makes sense, I guess."

Jin Zixuan wrinkled his nose.

"Well then!" Wen Rouhan clapped, making the others jump. "Since you are here, care for some tea?"

---------------

Lan Wangji sat with his Guqin laying in his lap. His finger skillfully pulling the strings. The soft songs of birds filling the sweet smelling air. But, the second jade didn't think anything was sweet at the moment. He was worried. Worried for the charming, energetic, and troublemaker cultivator he admired from afar.

"Wangji," his uncle called, stepping into the library pavilion. "Have you seen Xichen around? I need a word with him."

"Uncle, I believe he is in Hanshi."

Lan Qiren huffed. "Thank you, Wangji."

"Mn."

Lan Xichen blinked, tired, as he sat down to meditate. His eyes then opened as he heard his uncle call for him.

"Xichen, I need a word."

Lan Xichen stood, inviting his uncle in with a bow. "Uncle, what is it that you want to talk about?"

Lan Qiren scanned the room for a moment. "I just want to ask you: who is sending those future-telling letters? You seem to be getting them a lot." He gestured with a flick of his sleeve at the small pile of papers.

"Ah," the First Jade straightened. "Indeed, but then just keep showing up at the doorstep every night. Before nine," he clarified quickly.

"Xichen."

"Yes, Uncle?"

"Kneel in front of the Wall of Discipline for a few hours."

"Yes, uncle." Xichen swept out of Hanshi elegantly, not looking back as he went to fulfill his Uncle's demand.

Lan Qiren's eyes migrated around the room one last time before he himself swiftly walked out, shutting the door behind him.

------

At the moment, Wei WuXian was practically hugging a baffled Wen Ning's robes. "Wen Ning!!" He sobbed, ignore the snort from Wen Rouhan, and the odd noise from Jin Zixuan.

"Y-young M-master?" Wen Ning stuttered, his arms trembling as he held a tray of tea and delicate cups. He shuffled back, confused. "A-are y-you a-alright, y-young master?"

"WEN NIING!!" Wei WuXian cried, " I'm sorr-" but before he could finish, Jin Zixuan covered his mouth, dragging him back to the table, and forcing him to sit back.

"Wei WuXian," the Jin scolded, his arms crossed. "What in heaven's name are you doing?! Don't go crying and wailing to some 'stranger'!" Of course, he knew who that young Wen was. He would never forget such a thing.

"B-but!"

"Stay there."

Wen Rouhan watched, a large smirk carving his face. He then mused, "If only I could adopt you all."
