Chapter 26

Authors POV

It has been exactly 2 months and 3 weeks since you last saw him. You really don't want to think about it, but with each passing day it gets increasingly hard not to. There is only one week left to the concert, one week left until you see him again face to face.

You seriously considered not going at all. You thought about it more than you would like to admit, however, not going would only make your life worse. ARMY has been a challenge for you, to put it lightly. You had to erase the whole of your social media, including your YouTube account. You couldn't handle all the hate.

You were hated and blamed for everything, including for him confessing to you. The way you see it there would be no happy ending anyways. You would be hated if you accepted his confession, you would be hated if you rejected it, you would be hated if you ignored. In your eyes it was an impossible situation and you blamed Jungkook for it all. If only he would have kept his mouth shut. Still to this day you cannot understand what when through his head. You definitely would have if you had heard him out as he begged you so many times before, but you being you, of course you didn't. You would also understand it if you had let Amelia say what she saw, or even see the whole show for yourself, but you figured it would be way to painful to do. You weren't ready.

You decided that, once you were finally over Jungkook, you would watch it for closure. According to studies, that should be about now, but you still felt exactly the same about him as you did on the day you admitted your feelings to yourself. You let out a sigh as you are spread across your bed, patiently waiting for Amelia to arrive.

You could no longer walk freely in Korea. You had to always be in disguise when going out and about, changing hair colors every time a paparazzi managed to find wherever you were and leaked both pictures and exact location details.

The most scary part is that not once you noticed you were being followed. Not once you felt anyone observing you, let alone taking pictures of you. The last few months had been absolute hell for you. You tried to distract yourself by travelling around Korea as planned, but if someone recognized you, you had to run. It was so tiring. You could not phantom how the boys kept up that for 9 years now, although, at least they were loved while you were hated. You were no loser though and would never admit defeat, and so you kept up with your initial plan and traveled around  Korea, with the end destination being Seoul where in one weeks time you would attend the concert that was happening only two days before you would have to leave.

Hybe was kind enough to offer you backstage passes after realizing the hell you were going through. You must admit that offer came in as a surprise to you, but you accepted it. It is true you did not want to see Jungkook face to face again, but you still had unfinished business with Jimin, and the rest of the boys missed you just as much as you missed them.

You kept contact with all of them while they were abroad, travelling for their tour. Well, all of them except Jungkook and Jimin. You still remember Jimin's face once your missions were revealed after leaving the house. He looked absolutely disgusted. He refused to hear you out though, he didn't want to give you the chance to explain and you decided to let him be. You had been hypocrite enough, you couldn't force him to hear you out, when you yourself were refusing to hear a single word Jungkook had to say.

Your mission was successful and you won 10 k for managing to become Jimin's best friend. You were yet to touch an cent of that money though. It didn't feel right to touch it, not when you've hurt someone you cared about to get it. Its true that your friendship with him was real, but he can't see it that way.

Jungkook had stopped trying to contact you a long time ago, his heart probably already forgot you. If that is the case, you are happy for him. He deserves better, someone stronger, someone selfless, someone that will treat him just as he deserves to be treated. Of course you have no idea what is really going on inside Jungkook's mind or heart, you will find out though, eventually.
