It's the next morning and you wake up to the sound of your alarm ringing. You go to the window and look out the window to see the foggy, tinted blue sky. You close the blinds and turn the lights on. Today you pick out a more casual outfit. You grab your favorite T-shirt and tuck it into your baggy jeans. You head to the bathroom to brush your teeth and hair. You put on your shoes and throw your backpack over your shoulder and run downstairs.
"Who's that pulling into our driveway?" Your mom says looking out the window. You look and you see a familiar black car. You can already tell it's Eddie's car. He gets out of the car wearing his usual Hellfire shirt and black jeans with chains and his denim jacket. You open the door before he could knock.
"Hey, Y/n." He says.
"Eddie, what are you doing here? It's seven in the morning."
"I know, but I was wondering if I could give you a ride to school." You look back at your mom.
"I'm sorry, who is this?" Your mom says, confused.
"Mom, this is Eddie. He's a new friend from school."
Eddie smiles and holds a hand out.
"It's nice to meet you." Your mom shakes his hand and forces a smile.
"Can he take me to school?" You ask.
"Oh um, yea, yea sure just don't be late." Your mom says. You look over at Brittany.
"Brittany do you want to come?"
"Um no thanks Im still eating breakfast." She says as she's getting a glass of milk.
"I guess it's just me and you, Y/n" Eddie says, smirking.
"Bye Mom. Love you." You say walking out to Eddie's car. Eddie opens the door for you and you get in.
"Your mom seemed scared of me." Eddie says.
"I mean, if a teenage boy with long hair and tattoos and chains came into my house to take my daughter to school, I would be scared too." You say smiling. Eddie chuckles.
"I mean I wouldn't blame anyone for thinking I'm mean and scary at first sight. I mean, look at me." He looks over at you with a sarcastic smile.
"You know, that's not what I thought of you when I first saw you." You said shyly looking at the ground.
"Really?" He says. He perks up.
"Yea. I mean despite the tattoos and chains and all that, I could tell by your eyes you had a soft side to you." You look at him with a shy smile.
"You're the first person to say something like that to me." He says, slightly blushing, still looking at the road. You think to yourself, oh no, did I say too much? You don't respond to him. You just look out the window.

The rest of the car ride to school was just small talk, just getting to know each other better. He pulls into the parking lot at school. He gets out of the car and walks to your side and opens the car door for you. He helps you out of the car. As you two are walking through the crowd of kids to get into school, he puts his hand on the small of your back for a few seconds. Although it was only about two seconds, it was enough to make butterflies soar recklessly through your stomach. He lets go and you two walk into the school. You go your separate ways to get to your locker. The boy from the basketball team that yelled at Eddie yesterday came up to you.
"Dang I've never seen you around. You new here?"
"Uh yea it's my second day." He smirks at you.
"Well Im Jason. If you ever need someone to show you around, just come to me."
"Thanks, but someone already showed me around." You shut your locker and walked off but he grabbed your arm.
"Hey don't go so quickly, I want to get to know you." He says still smirking. One of his friends comes up to you guys.
"Dude, you have a girlfriend. Quit flirting with the new girl." Jason looks at his friend then looks back at you.
"Chrissy and I aren't exclusive." He winks at you.
"Please let go of me." You told him.
"I'm not gonna let a pretty girl like you off the hook so quickly."
"I said let me go." You said firmly to him. You suddenly feel two large hands on your waist. By the feeling of his rings, you could tell who it was. It was Eddie.
"Let her go." He said.
"Oh look who it is. Who would have thought the freak would be hanging out with the new cute girl." He snickers.
"I said let her go." You can tell Eddie's getting mad because you could feel him breathing heavy on the top of your head. Jason tightens his grip on you. Eddie let's go of you're waist and walks up closer to Jason.
"I'm not gonna ask again. Let Y/n go."
"Or what?" Jason snickers again. "You gonna summon your little cult to curse me? You and your dumb hellfire freaks?"
Eddie takes takes a deep breath. He swings at Jason, knocking him to the ground. Jason looks up and his lip and nose are bleeding intensely.
"Your dead, Munson." Jason punches Eddie right in the eye. Eddie grabs Jason by the collar and throws him against the lockers. Eddie grabs your hand and he sprints down the hallway. You guys run into an empty classroom and sit against the wall. You take a couple seconds to catch your breath. You look at him and his whole outside of his right eyes is dark purple and the inside is red.
"Eddie your eye-" He interrupts you.
"It's okay, Y/n. I'll be okay."
"No Eddie we have to go to the nurse. You need some ice." You frankly stand up and grab his hand.
"C'mon Eddie." You say helping him up.
"Y/n-" He tried to stop you from taking him to the nurse. He doesn't want to be seen as weak.
"Eddie please." You say. He finally gives in and you both start walking down the hallway.

You and Eddie enter the nurse office.
"Oh gosh! What happened here?" The nurse says walking up to Eddie to check out his eye.
"Oh I um... I got hit in the face with a dodgeball  during gym."
"Here, I'll give you a pack of ice." She gives Eddie a pack of ice. "I'll be right back I have to go find the other nurse." She walks out of the room. You and Eddie sit on the bed in the office. You take the pack of ice and put it on his eye.
"Ouch!" Eddie says.
"I know, but we gotta calm the swelling." You reassure him.
"But do you have to push on it that hard?" He says. You take the ice pack off.
"Okay fine. Feel better?"
"Yea a lot better." He smiles.
"By the way, thanks for standing up to Jason like that. He was making me uncomfortable."
Eddie looks up at you.
"Anytime. If you need me, I'll always be here."
You smile and you give him a hug. He hugs you tight. You feel safe in his arms. You both let go and look at each other. He gives you those eyes.
"What?" You say.
"Screw it." He says. He grabs your cheek and pulls you in and kisses you. The feeling of his cold rings against your cheek gives you butterflies. You put your hands on the back of his neck and he moves his hands from your face to your waist. You feel so free. You feel like all your problems have faded away. Your kiss is interrupted when the nurse walks in. You stop just in time for her not to catch you.
"How are you kiddos doing?" She says.
"So much better." Eddie says smiling.
"Good, you guys can head back to class now." She says with a smile on her face. You stand up and Eddie holds your hand, intertwining his fingers with yours. You both walk back to class, holding hands.
