TW - Blood (a really small amount)
Rantaro's POV
It was once again, that time of the day. At 5:00, Kiyo, and me, are usually very hungry, as we often skip lunch. Not that I minded cooking though. I had gathered a lot of recipes over the years trying to search for my sisters, that lead me to being an above average chef. I stoop up from the sofa I was previously lounging on and paced tithe kitchen.
When I was there, Kiyo was flicking through a cook book, and smiled as I entered the room. "Hello, I was wondering. Could I watch you cook today, dear?" I liked that pet name a lot. I nodded with a smile as I gestured to Kiyo to give me the book, and he passed it to me. I flicked through a few pages, and landed one a spaghetti recipe. "Do you want spaghetti today?" Kiyo nodded as a response as I grabbed the colender, or the hole bowl as Kiyo calls it.
Kiyo sat on the ledge of the table as I flicked the stove on, and put a pot of water on it. I grabbed the salt and sprinkled some into the water before remembering our favourite joke. "Hey Kiyo, look at this!" I showed him the salt as he chuckled to himself. "I sure am glad that Danganrompa is over." He said in his usual voice.
"At least I didn't kill two people and blamed a plank of wood!", I was laughing, and so was Kiyo. "Killed first? So much for the ultimate survivor." We we're basically in tears now, we were both rolling at the sides as we both served random light-hearted insults at each other. I was at this moment, chopping onions and I was crying as of the gases released from the onion. Kiyo instantly stopped laughing, thinking he had offended me to the verge of tears.
"My dearest.. are you ok? I truly apologise for if I have offended you to far.." I laughed as the gas stung my eyes and showed Kiyo that I wasn't crying, but was indeed, chopping onions. He once again, started chucking to himself. "May I help dear?" I nodded as he nudged me to the side and chopped the onions. Tried to, at least. I was inspecting it, making sure he didn't cut himself. It was all going smoothly until he sharply pulled away, some blood dripping from his bandaged finger. "Oh no. I'll get some fresh bandages." I said comfortingly as I gave him a small kiss where he cut himself, making him blush slightly under his mask.
I grabbed the plasters and cotton pads from the medical drawer and ran over to Kiyo. It wasn't too serious of an incident, I was just concerned for my boyfriend. I took his bandaged hands and unwrapped the cloth from around them, revealing his slim fingers. I inspected the cut, of what was more deep than I thought it originally was.
I took the antiseptic liquid and dampened a cotton bud with it. "This may sting Kiyo." I lowered the bud towards the cut, and when it made contact Kiyo shuddered a bit. I felt bad for him, but he might of gotten infected if I did not do this. I then took a plaster and peeled back the smooth grey layer, and carefully wrapped it around his finger. I then got a fresh piece of cloth and carefully wrapped each finger with the bandage.
Once I had wrapped all the fingers, Kiyo just rested his head on my shoulder. His hair was soft, and acted like a blanket for my neck. I always thought that if he tied it up in a ponytail though, it would be hot. I would actually never tell him this, but you know.
I gave him another forehead kiss as he looked at me with those gold eyes I loved so much. "Humanity is beautiful." I he had his eyes half shut, and figured that he was tired. "Babe you want to go to sleep?" He nodded, his eyes now fully closed and his arms wrapped around my shoulders, spreading his warmth.
I managed to get him to stand up and move to the sofa, me accompanying him. I payed him down on the leather sofa and propped up a cushion for a make-do pillow. I bent down and raised his hand, giving him a kiss where he cut himself again, now on the plaster. He once again, blushed at this action, that I found cute.
"Alright Kiyo, I have to make the rest of the spaghetti, I'll return to you once everything is cooking. Kiyo just shook his head, looking at me with big eyes. "Don't leave, I want your embrace." I blushed at this remark as Kiyo once again grabbed my hand to prevent me from leaving his side. He is so clingy, and it's so cute. "I promise, Kiyo, I will be back. Just give me ten minutes." He then proceeded to look at me with another sad glance, then slowly let my hand go. "I will await you dear. My arms are always open~" I covered my flustered face with my hand as I walked out of the door and back into the kitchen.
I closed the door and sat back on it. Why.. No, how can he be hot, cute and in my league at the same time? I shook the blush off of my sweaty face as I grabbed the spoon to stir the pasta. I realised that it had stuck to the bottom, and there were small black marks on the spaghetti, meaning that it had melted into a weird mush and burnt. "Shit." I cursed under my breath. I threw the watery starchy mess in the bin, and put the rest of the ingredients and equipment back in their required doors.
I went to Korekiyo once again, him smiling under his mask at seeing me again. I payed down carefully next to him, making sure not to accidentally tug his hair. "What made you return so fast dear?" H was looking at me as he tilted his head. "The pasta burnt. No big deal." He smiled to himself. His smile was so wholesome.
"Do you want to get takeaway my dear?"
"That sounds good!"
