"You had to find a way to talk to her didn't you?" Soha hissed at Aryamann.

"What I do in my personal life, is no more your concern Soha. You remember we have filed for divorce again, right?" replied Aryamann calmly.

"I wonder how you agreed this easily, this time around, was this the plan all along Aryamann?" she commanded in an undertone.

"I agreed because I am tired of us pretending to be perfect Soha, I can't do it anymore; Saara is old enough now, she will be ready to understand. And this, meeting Nandu? No, I had no idea I'd see her here; but you won't believe that anyway, then why ask?"

"I can't stand her Aryamann, you know it" spoke Soha with a pursed lip and a fake smile, while she waved at acquaintances passing by.

"Please don't create a scene here; if you are that bothered then just leave – go back to the hotel – there are a lot of folks from the industry here, AKP & Associates have a reputation, we don't want to compromise on that, do we?" responded Aryamann with a smirk, and he had won; come what may, Soha wouldn't malign the name of AKP & Associates; she'd now leave, that would give him the much needed space and time; he wasn't going anywhere without meeting Nandini once.

Alia was just walking up to their table when she saw her sister bidding goodbye to a few people and walking off towards the main gate; her Jiju seemed to be staying back. She sensed something and followed Soha who had now almost reached the gate, but she stopped. Alia's eyes followed to find Nandini standing just outside the gate, she didn't see either of them, she was just standing by her car, gazing up at the sky; Alia was alarmed. Knowing her sister, she darted towards Aryamann, someone soon had to intervene.

"So, hello Nandini. We met again!" Soha sneered as she reached her; Nandini jerked and turned around when she heard that familiar voice.

"Soha ma'am..umm...hi, how are you?" she mumbled, looking at her; it had taken her quite some time out here in the quiet to calm down, but just like that, the uneasiness was coming back, along with dozens of unpleasant memories.

"I'm fine, as you can see, very happy with my husband of course, and our bundle of joy, Saara. What about you, are you married now, or are you still scouring for men, especially of the married variety?" she asked politely with an obvious hint of sarcasm.

Nandini stared at her, she didn't just say that, did she? After all these years, after all this pain, this was what she got called? A home breaker?

"Soha ma'am, it was nice meeting you, I should go in now" she was leaving from there, she couldn't stand there a moment more, it would risk her breaking down; she already felt bile in her mouth, the restlessness, the shortness of breath, and the heat – she was feeling them all, and to top it, was the dull headache from all the loud music playing inside.

"Going to meet Aryamann?" she called back silkily from behind, and her feet froze. No, she couldn't go in right now, what if she really bumped into him, what would she do? Would she be able to handle it? How the hell would she handle him, when she couldn't handle talking to Soha ma'am? She had to stay here, face Soha ma'am and make her go away, so she could be here; there was no other way, she told herself. She couldn't risk a showdown inside, they were all there, Abhimanyu, Mukti, Manik and even some of her oldest friends, plus all the guests. She took a deep breath and turned around.
