Fae

Lunch time, finally. I don't usually go to the cafeteria for lunch, only when I have to. I much rather go to the library or the forest. And today, I chose to go to the forest and went to the same spot from this morning. I bring my own lunch from home.

It's usually a very simple lunch since I can't really get a lot of things from the store and I refuse to get a job. Most of the ingredients I use are from my garden.

I found the spot by the waterfall and sat down and took a deep breath before taking my lunch out and eating.

It was so peaceful outside and definitely quiet. I could hear some of the students who chose to eat outside on the picnic tables but they were far enough away to where I could only hear muffled words.

I spent the entire lunch period in the forest, just listening to the waterfall and the animals moving around as I ate. It was nice. When the bell rang, I packed up and headed to the science building for Chemistry. I didn't see any new students there and I was glad.

The Cullen's

It was lunch time at Forks High and the Cullen family met up outside before they walked in through the doors from the outside. Rosalie and Emmett were first, Emmett being a gentleman and opened the door for Rosalie. Which caused her to smile at him.

After them was Alice and Jasper. Alice had her arm hooked around Jaspers and she smiled up at him. Jasper returned the smile if a bit strained from the amount of people in the lunchroom. And finally, came Edward. He walked by himself as he had no girlfriend or another sibling to walk with him.

As they walked, most of the student body was staring at them. Many of the girls were eyeing the boys and the guys were looking the girls up and down. The Cullen's paid no mind as they were used to this treatment. They all sat at a large circle table without grabbing food from the lunch  line. Since they didn't eat, they didn't really want to waste food just to pretend like they were human.

A few minutes after they sat down, three students, two holding cameras, came up to the Cullen's table. Jasper stiffened up a little and Alice took his hand under the table. "Hi, I'm Angela and this is Eric. We're with the school paper and we were wondering if we could run a story on you guys since you're new here." Angela asked, smiling nervously at the Cullen's. Eric also smiled nervously as well along with the other girl.

Rosalie looked at them skeptically. As previously stated, she hated humans, especially cheery ones. "And who are you?" She asked harshly, pointing at the other brown haired girl. The girl chuckled nervously, "O-oh, I'm Jessica. I'm kind of like your info queen around Forks High so if you need anything you can always ask me." She answered. The only thing that really annoyed Rosalie was at the end of this Jessica girl's explanation, she became flirty and was looking at Edward a certain way.

"Ok, Jessica, we get it. Can Eric and I get back to the original reason we're here?" Angela sighed before turning back to the Cullen's. "I don't see why we shouldn't. What would you like to know?" Alice asked curiously. "Mostly just your names, a little background Info like where you're from, why'd you move. That kind of stuff." Eric answered. "Oh and get a picture for the article, if that's alright." Angela added, holding up her camera.

The Cullen family shared a look and mentally agreed. "We moved here from Alaska. Our Foster Dad got a job at Forks Hospital so we transferred." Rosalie explained, keeping to the story they've told most of their immortal lives. "Oh, you're foster kids? Are any of you actual siblings or..?" Eric asked, slightly surprised. "Yeah, Rosalie and Jasper are brother and sister. They both kept the last name 'Hale' while the rest of us have the last name Cullen." Alice answered, leaning her head on Jasper's shoulder.

"You and Jasper seem a lot closer than siblings." Jessica said, her tone confused and a little disgusted. Alice chuckled, "Yes, Jasper and I are a couple. As are Rosalie and Emmett. Edward is still single though, but that's ok." Alice replied, gesturing to the other couple and their single brother. Edward glared a little at Alice, especially when he read what went through Jessica's mind when she heard the word 'single' and 'Edward' in the same sentence.

As if Eric and Angela could feel the tension, they decided to cut the interview short. "Alright, how about that picture?" Eric asked awkwardly. Angela and Jessica stepped back as Eric took the picture. The Cullen's posed a little. Alice put her head on Jasper's shoulder, Emmett put his arms around Rosalie and Edward and they all smiled a little. "Thank you, we'll leave you alone now." Eric said before they all left.

"Did you really have to announce that I'm single, Alice?" Edward asked, clearly annoyed. "You worry too much, bro." Emmett said, removing his arm from Edwards shoulder. Edward just rolled his eyes. "Rosalie, what are you looking for?" Alice asked. Rosalie had started looking around the cafeteria in search of the girl from her art class. "I met this human girl in art today. She actually was tolerable and I was wondering where she was but I don't see her." Rosalie explained, sighing.

"You, Rosalie Hale, tolerating a human. Who are you?" Jasper asked sarcastically. "Oh shut up." Rosalie replied, rolling her eyes. "What's this girl's name?" Alice asked curiously. "Fae." Rosalie answered. "Hey, I know that name she sat in front of me in my Algebra class last period." Emmett said. "And I sat next to her in History this morning." Jasper added. "Hm, interesting. I hope I can meet her. If Rosalie can tolerate her, she must be interesting." Alice said, smiling.

"She's pretty funny too. I asked if she understood anything in Algebra and she said, and I quote, 'I have no fucking clue'." Emmett said, recalling what Fae had said in class. He started laughing all over again. "She's nice too. She gave me an entire notebook she wasn't using when I only asked for a piece of paper." Jasper added, holding up said notebook.

"She is. We had to paint something that described us in some way in art and she was drawing a forest with a lot of creatures. And I ended up painting myself holding a baby. She basically figured out that I can't have children and she didn't look at me with pity or ask any further questions." Rosalie said, her tone turning slightly sad. Emmett kissed her cheek which caused her to smile. "Now I really want to meet her." Alice confirmed just as the bell rang, signaling that lunch was over.
