Different Worlds

Chapter 1 : The Master

From a high place, one would be able to see a big round open space in between a sea of greens. A town covered by a thick forest. It was a lazy summer day, it was mid-day. Some people were out in the roads and some cars too. The kids in schools were roaming around in the hallways as it was lunch time. A girl with cat-ears in green top and red skirt had two grocery bags in her hands, one of the bags had a fish-like logo on it. A policeman looked at his clock. It was time, he thought, so he went out and then the wind started blowing, but then it stopped. He thought to himself " Maybe not now ". He then instead took out his patrolling cycle and started heading to the town's entrance.

The Kaken town's entrance didn't have proper asphalt roads until a few meters in , before that there was a dirt path connected to the forest. Then three figures emerged from the forest, a man in his twenties and two twelve year old boys. The man was a little skinny. He was wearing all black, black shirt, pants, glasses with a black frame and even a facemask. There was only a little yellow "C" on his chest pocket. It was his uniform. His hair was long and black and he had a ponytail. His eyes were brown and they also had dark circles under them. He looked tired and exhausted. To the man's left there was a blonde 12 year old. He was wearing gray pants and a white shirt that had the words ' ZAP ' written on it diagonally. The letters of the "ZAP'' were written in black. His facial expression was curious, but the man knew he was trying to figure out where he was being taken. To the man's right there was a slightly buff red haired boy, he was wearing a red and white striped tank top and brown shorts. His eyes were blue. There was a bandage on his face and he was also cuffed. The handcuffs had a special energy surrounding it like a silver flame. That's also why he looked frustrated and angry. He said to the man "Morty, where the hell are we going ? First a ship, then a super-fast carriage(train) and now a forest ?. Morty told him to shut up and be quite like the blondie, Nemo. They walked until they reached the town and walking in further they stopped at a crossroad with real asphalt roads. As soon as they reached there Morty sat down on the first nearby bench he could find.

The red-head, Echo, spoke, " Why are you sitting, are we there?" Morty replied "No, but someone else is gonna take you there instead, you're not my responsibility anymore. (*sighs), Wait Echo where's Nemo ?. Echo pointed towards Nemo who was standing in front of a vending machine. He called Nemo and gave him some cash and told him "go get yourselves something". Echo said "What about me ?" showing his cuffs. A ball of silver aura appeared around Morty's hand and he told Echo " stand still '' .Echo put his cuffed hands forward and then Morty shot the cuffs with the ball of energy. A small explosion happened and the cuffs fell off Echo's hands and landed on the roads with a "Clank". The very unharmed Echo with a grin in his face ran towards Nemo saying "Get me a Monster's blood ", to which Nemo replied "It's just Monster ". As the kids were drinking their beverages the policeman riding his cycle came. He parked his cycle and was heading towards them while waving his hand, but then he stopped and looked surprised.

 Morty looked at himself and then back at Echo and Nemo and he understood why the policeman was so surprised. Echo must've felt it too that the policeman was a Sepia-user and so he charged towards the policeman. Echo leaped over Morty and went for a punch, but he just got shot by Morty and he fell down. When he opened his eyes, Morty was stepping on his back and was trying to put another Sp-blocking cuffs on him. He grinned again and a silver aura started appearing around his entire body. He grabbed Morty's legs and threw him away. Morty landed on his feet and he looked at Echo who had his full body covered with Sp. He said "Ehehehe , youuu started it and now–", then a can of " Monster " hit Echo's head. Both of them were surprised and looked at the person who threw the can, it was Nemo. Nemo said to Echo "Do you really wanna waste your energy on Morty ? Are you sure you're not forgetting something ? What about the bigger fish ? ".

Echo's grin disappeared along with the Sp covering his body. He said "Oh right, I totally forgot ". He then grabbed his drink and finished...whatever was left of it, crumpled with his bare hand and threw the debris on the road. But then the debris stopped mid-air and then a breeze blew it away inside a trash can. Everybody noticed how the policeman's hand was covered on Sp. It then disappeared. He waved his hand and said, "You kids follow me, I'll take you to the Master's dojo " and then he started to walk away. Nemo followed him and Echo told Morty, "This isn't over . Next time I'll beat your ass " and then he ran after the policeman. Morty sat back on the bench, removed his mask , pulled out a cigarette and started to smoke one while he looked up the most nearby hotels. He figured that if he told his boss that he was actually injured while escorting those two brats to the master's place, his boss couldn't blame him and he wouldn't lose face either, so he decided to stay away from his job for a few days. He also wondered why Echo, just because his boss acknowledged him, started considering themselves to be rivals.



Echo : Are we there yet ?
