Chapter 4 : Rivals

Echo was keeping his eye on the boss wolf as it was also monitoring the fight. When the wolf howled again he thought that the boss would now enter the fight and he got excited. But instead the wolves started to run away, flapped their odd looking wings and jumped on the tree branches. They disappeared faster than they had appeared. But then he felt vibrations coming from the steps of something..... something bigger and heavier. He looked back and saw that everyone was running away as well. Although he could see that Nemo had a curious face so he was at the back of the group. When they reached him....

Ken : What are you standing there for ? Run!!

Echo : What is it exactly ?

Kyle : A Fragon, it usually stays beyond the Treant forests at the edge of the forest, but now it's here, run!

Nemo : Yeah, we should, it's.....huge. Hey ! Where are you going, Echo ?!

Echo had always wanted to see one. He always heard about it being an absolutely dangerous creature. It's a 17ft giant dragon(lizard) with two very long tails which had stingers like scorpions and the thing itself could exhale a high amount of lethal poison gas. He also heard that they can spew acid from their mouth. But none of that poison or acid is actually harmful to the forest or the environment, so that's exactly why it's called a " Forest Dragon ". Some even call it a nature spirit or an '' Apostle Monster '' of the "Earth God ''. So he ran as soon as he heard its name. Actually he also heard of a rumor that said that the trees struck by the dragon's poison or acid will become Treants, living tree monsters. He knew that there was a high chance he couldn't beat it yet and that Nemo was following him. But he still felt like he just had to see the forest dragon.

He ran towards the vibrations of the footsteps of the dragon. When he felt he was close enough he started climbing up a big tree. It was a pretty big tree. He reached the top, it was pretty dark and there was a good breeze going. From that high place he could see a slightly lit Kaken town from afar, an open space in the middle of a sea of greens. He then looked around as he thought that he might not see the dragon because it was dark. But then he grinned as he saw that a giant silhouette was moving in between the trees. The trees were shaking as it walked past them, but not a single tree had fallen. Echo then saw it in the moonlight, its two very long tails raised up, those looked like they were two different and alive snakes. He wanted to go in closer and he was gonna move, but then he felt a hand on his shoulder. He didn't move, he knew there was no point. Then he was immediately tased and he became unconscious. Nemo then dragged him away back to the group.

Some hours had passed, it was night now and they were back to the giant armadillo-monster's territory. After several hours of scouting and observation they understood that even if the monsters were curious, they still wouldn't enter another monster's territory. Also not every monster in the forest was as monstrous as the Fragon or the pack of winged wolves. They moved the monster corpses much more inside the territory, so the other monsters wouldn't find out that the territory's boss is dead yet. Simon's group apparently also had hidden several tents and camping equipment somewhere in the forest.

So now they had set camp in the armadillo monster's territory. They quickly set up camp as if they had done camping several times. Echo and Simon were fast asleep in their tents. Katie stayed beside Simon, because she said "He could wake up any second ". So she also told Sandy and the twins to go collect some edible fruits and firewood from nearby. Since she couldn't leave, she told Nemo to go with them for safety. If there was a problem she'd let them know with battery powered walkie talkies that they had, apparently. Nemo said sure and followed those 3 along.

Nemo followed them along. They really seem to know a lot about the forest. The twins could easily find fruits even in the dark and they climbed trees pretty fast. Sandy knew all about the creatures of the forest that crawl around in the night. Nemo also learned that this forest has living tree monsters that everybody calls Treants and that COSPU makes sure no monster gets out of this territory by always maintaining a giant barrier made of Sp around the forest. But throughout the whole trip the trio seemed bummed out, their expressions looked like shit. So Nemo tried to reignite their little hearts with something stronger and better than the usual "courage, passion and bravery" and all that crap.
